SOURCE: engine starts but stalls, misfires intermitenly while driving.

Try looking at the idle/air control valve - Look around where the gas cables attach to the engine. remove the wires and then unbolt the unit from the engine. The control valve has a spring valve that you can clean with intake cleaner. re-install the valve and drive to warm up the vehicle. After 20 minutes the vehicle should Idle. If not clear all codes and relist them here - hope tthis helps

SOURCE: code p1131 on a 1999 mercury cougar

Lack of HO2S-11 Switch, Indicates Lean.Right bank front 02 sensor. When an HO2S sensor indicates lean at the end of a test, the system is trying to correct for an over-lean condition. The code is set when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.In other words the 02 sensor is indicating lean and the fuel trim has reached the programed limit trying to correct it.
There are many things that could cause this like a bad 02 sensor,a vacuum leak,a leaking or contaminated fuel injector/s,a stuck open PCV valve, leak in hose between MAF sensor and engine causing un-metered or unmeasured air entering the engine, exhaust leak, improperly seated oil dipstick, stuck EGR valve.
Check PCV valve first if it is stuck open if you pull the hose off of the valve cover that hooks to the air tube between MAF and engine you will feel a strong vacuum pull there, normal you would hardly feel it.

SOURCE: My check engine light is on and I received code

Not sure where you got that definition for that code but this is what it is and means with possible causes for whichever motor you have:

Trouble Code: P1135 (2.4L L4 VIN - Auto)
A/F Sensor-11 (Bank 1 Sensor 1) Heater Circuit Malfunction Print this code dataprint_icon_codes.gif
Number of Trips to Set Code: 2
OBD II Monitor Type: CCM Details
Indicators: MIL Details

Trouble Code Conditions:
Engine started, engine running, and the PCM detected the A/F Sensor-11 (A/FS-11) heater current was less than 0.25A, or that it was more than 8.0A at anytime during the CCM test.

Possible Causes:
  • A/F sensor heater circuit or ground circuit is open
  • A/F sensor heater power circuit is open
  • A/F sensor heater is damaged or has failed
  • PCM has failed

faulty sensors
Generally related to fuel supply system system
Possible Solutions The P0002 is an OBDII generic code, but almost none of the vehicle manufactures use it. If you are getting this code, make sure you are using the correct OBDII code scanner for your vehicle's make and model. Check Fuel Supply with pressure meter Ensure the fuel pump is working (Check fuses and power at pump) Check that fuel return line is working

Down to the final OB code on my truck...Po174

P0174 FORD - Fuel Injection System Too lean Bank 2xicon.jpghttp://engine-codes.com/p0174_ford.htmlForum CodePossible causes- Intake air leaks
- Faulty front heated oxygen sensor
- Ignition misfiring
- Faulty fuel injectors
- Exhaust gas leaks
- Incorrect fuel pressure
- Lack of fuel
- Faulty Mass Air Flow (MAF) sensor
- Incorrect Positive Crankcase Ventilation (PCV) hose connection Tech notes The codes is usually set when there is an intake leak after the air flow meter, before replacing any parts check for loose or broken hoses and intake gasket leak. On Ford some models dirty air filter, and dirty or faulty air flow sensor are the cause of the problem.

It's a very common problem for the Ford Windstar. Here a link to a web site with information how to repair:
When is the code detected?- Fuel injection system does not operate properly.
- The amount of mixture ratio compensation is too small. (The mixture ratio is too lean.) Symptoms- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)
- Excessive Fuel ConsumptionP0174 FORD Description The Powertrain Control Module (PCM) monitors the engine Air/Fuel mixture ratio, the actual mixture ratio can be brought closely to the theoretical mixture ratio based on the mixture ratio feedback signal from the heated oxygen sensors 1. The PCM calculates the necessary compensation to correct the offset between the actual and the theoretical ratios.

In case the amount of the compensation value is extremely large (The actual mixture ratio is too lean.), the PCM judges the condition as the fuel injection system malfunction and light up the engine light.

EVAP Purge control circuit code

You need a new air flow meter and air filter. Your car ir running lean, resulting in bogging issue. I am sure, that you have been using a aftermarket air filter, which is the cause of the air flow meter failure. Is the check engine light on?? if so scan it and you will most likely come up woth "fuel system lean P0171 code" Aftermarket filters are the root cause of air flow meter failure in a sentra. Let me know what you find.
