Your ball joints are press in units that require the use of a hand press. You can either rent one or some of the larger parts stores sometimes have ones you can borrow (with a deposit). Unlike some press in joints that can be hammered in, you cannot do that because the steering knuckle is too deep and the joint will bind before you get it installed and further hammering will destroy it.
Use a chilton or haynes manual as a guide if you haven't ever installed a joint. The key to getting it right is to have the correct press parts ready before you actually install them, make sure that the bores in the knuckle are clean and have no burrs and while installing make sure the joint stays perfectly straight. One trick I often use is to put the new joints in the freezer so they shrink a bit...you need to work quickly though or they warm up and then that's a waste of time.
If you have some experience, it's not a terribly difficult job. If you don't, then have someone do it for you.

My 1998 grand jeep cherokee, when I turn a corner my tires sqeal and the jeep doesn't want to move what could be wrong with it

besides checking tire size and tire pressure the first thing you want to do is jack it up take the front tires off try to wiggle the tire in and out not side to side if the tire has any play you need to inspect your ball joints your tie end rods and tie rod ends, and it wouldn't hurt to inspect the universal joints as well as your sway bar bushing and you might want to check the front steering gear box inspect the steering shaft shocks and coil springs or struts whatever you have check the steering damper if you have one and your wheel bearings.just a tip with the ball joints you should be able to take a grease gun and fill your ball joints and anything else you see with a grease fitting it should help but if its as bad as your saying it is this should take care about all of it except for realignment .this is everything i had to change on my 89 cherokee to get it to drive worth a darn

sounds like it time to have the front end balljoints inspected. Only with an inspection will you get the proper results. Why guess, this is a safety issue.

How too get ball joints off 1995 grand cherokee

Go to the auto parts store and buy a ball joint fork. You loosen the nut then put the fork between the ball joint. hit it with a hammer. be careful to not damage the boot. once the ball joint loosens up do the other side then remove the nuts.

there is more than just the ball joints wrong.
you need to have every thing on the front end checked including the brakes

if its like my 95. the only tool that would work was a large brass hammer. the 95 is pressed in. first check the auto parts stores for the correct ball joint puller. if that doesn't work get ready to start swingin. don't hit the fender.

How to change the ball joints on a 1996 jeep grand cherokee

'dont remember any. Be sure you have the joint square with the knuckle when installing... If it cocks to one side, it will jam. take care not to damage the boot. When using fork, it can damage stuff . I refrain from using it as much as possible, using a good sized hammer and giving a shot on the side of pin recievers (like where tie rod end goes through arm on knuckle) this saves tearing tie rod end boot. When in doubt get a manual...any more questions, ask!!

Replacing a '98 Grand Cherokees ball joints

The only parts you need are the ball joints, upper and lower, a total of 4, if you need all 4. As far as tools, you'll need wrenches, a removal and installer tool, the ball joints are pressed into the control arms, and a ball joint to steering knuckle seperator tool.Without those special tools, you will never get them changed, if you do it yourself.
