check the manifold is not leaking on the intake side. also check and clean the intake top. carb clean helps to clean out all the muck out on to a cloth. also carb cleaner will help if you have a leak spray round the intake when engine is a temp. engine will cut out or speed up depending on carb cleaner used. were there is a leak.

WON T ACCELERATE PROPERLY

Check for a crack in the big rubber hose between the throttle body and the air cleaner. A crack in that hose will open and let unmetered air spoil the fuel mixture when the engine is torqued in one direction (forward) and seal the crack when the engine is torqued or tilted in the other direction (reverse). If cracked, replace the hose

Car stumbles, backfires until warm

You need to replace your distributor. There has been many problems with these. I had the same problem with my 1993 villager and had tried many different things and none worked. I went to a junk yard and got a used distributor and now it runs fine. I would try this before anything alse.

Stumbles and backfires on acceleration

Check the distributor shaft. They have a history of developing finite cracks that causes the condition your describing. Let me know if I can help you with any other info.
