Hi and welcome to FixYa!

As a first course of action, I strongly suggest that you spray the bulb sockets and connectors with a contact cleaner. This is common on all cars. If the bulb sockets and connectors are corroded the brake lights fail.

Hope this helps and thank you for using FixYa! Have a good one!

1998 chrysler t&c brake lights wont work

you will need to get on your knees and look up under foot area drivers side , at the bake of your brake pedal is a switch , which is activated when you put your foot on the brake . replace this and things should be fine .

Brake lights do not light up when peddle is pressed. bulbs have been changed and, fuses are good

If the high mount light works, and you know the bulbs are good, the problem is probably in the turn signal switch.

You have a failed brake lamp relay, this is located at the back right hand in the trunk at the quater panel.

Hi, In my Renault master bake light are not working as well tail lights i have checked bulbs wiring and fuses, i have checke brake switch as well, any clue what that may be?

  • When all brake lights fail this is a master brake light switch failure. It needs replaced. Not sure how you check the switch but I can say it needs replaced. Down where the steering wheel bolts to the floorboard, then just barely off to the right is the switch you need to replace.

  • Renault had lots of issues with this and if your car is under warranty then you should heave the dealership replace this for free.

Have replaced fuse and bulbs, but still have no brake lights what else could it be?

Do any of your rear lights work: (left and right, third brake light above the rear hatch?? If all three lights are out and you have replaecd the fuse already I think you might have a bad bake light switch contact on your brake pedal. Depending on your experiance, you can either replace it youself or take it to a dealer to have it done.
I hope this helps you.

My 2004 Chevy Impala Brake lights don't work. I checked the bulbs and fuse. All is ok. I replaced the brake light switch with a new one. Still nothing. Is there a relay somewhere that I am missing?

You have 2 brake lite switches . Did you replace the one for the brake lite or the one for the single lite. Check again please...when you replaced the brake lite switch .. did you check and see if the bakes lights were on and if they were on. If they were the problem is in the adjusting of the switch. If not check for the relay..Good Luck!!!

Brake and turn signals not working

usually this indicates that the brake light switch or turn signal or flasher have failed.i would start by replacing the brake light switch located on the upper area of brake pedal and fix ya problem.

Brake lights ,tail lights wont work i have replaced fuses, bulbs

Check fuses, I believe that the WJ's (99-04) ran a separate circuit for bake lights. Not sure if they did same for the ZJ's (93-98)
