I have a 2002 Sport Trac. Left rear blinker and break light will not work. I have changed all of the bulbs & checked the fuses. Wondering if it is in the harness, plug in connections or possibly the switch itself. I don't have a manual (yet) to figure out the wiring or where to even look for the connections in the wiring harness. Afraid I will have to tear out the seats and carpeting to try to find the wires. Yikes!!

Just found the answer on another site. Sure enough went out removed the 3 philips head screws in the steering column opened it up and walla a wire connection had pulled itself free. When my son uses my truck he always uses the tilt steering, when I get in I have to readjust it. because of this the wire connection pulled itself out. I simply pushed it back in an blinker and brake light are now working. My husband is now trying to figure a way to secure the wire connection so it doesn't pull itself out again. Hope this helps others, either by saving the cost of a dealership or machanic or from getting rear ended.

Why are tail lights. radio, and rear power window not working?

not sure if this is the problem but I would check the light switch and if the brake lights are not working I would suspect the brake switch over the pedal. check the bulbs first and make sure they don't have any broken ground wires from the light. easy to check with a volt meter and connect the test lead to the wire to the bulb and connect to a good ground.

No brake or turn signals lites work on 2001 ford explorer sport trac

Power for the brake lights go thru the turn signal switch before getting to the light bulbs.
Do you have power in and out of the brake light switch and the turn signal switch ?

LEFT REAR STOP LIGHT NOT WORKING FORD SPOR TTRACKER 2001

You may have to trace the wire from the blinker back . I am betting it is a cut wire in between the switch and the light. You can use a test light to go back tracing the wire until it light up. Your problem is right there. it could have been pinched and the current was cut off.

2001 ford sports trac brake lights not working ,

This may be a simple fix, where the wheel jack or washer bottle is located in the back behind the panel, there should be connectors for the rear lights, it is possible that the plug has been dislodged, remove the panels and check the plug connections. Good luck.

2001 ford explorer sport trac. When applying the brakes in a hurry they act as though the rear brakes arent working. The anti lock seems to be ok how about the proportional valve is there some reset button ?

have you replaced front brakes 3+ times? normal wear is 3 front to 1 rear. plus ratio of braking for MOST veh's is 70% front vs 30% rear. rears could simply have worn out!
