I don't know where you're getting "vac leak" out of that code... it's an 02 sensor code. 02 sensor is in your exhaust pipe(s) A bad 02 sensor can cause it to run lean.. but vac leak?

Possible causes

- Faulty Oxygen Sensor

- Vacuum leak affecting bank 1 only

- Fuel injector problem bank 1

- Check for cylinder misfire on bank 1

- Engine mechanical condition

Tech notes

Though the Oxygen (O2) sensor, the Engine Control Module (ECM) has detected a lean system, which means that there is either not enough fuel or and excessive amount of air in the system. Start by checking for vacuum leaks.

When is the code detected?

The Engine Control Module (ECM) detected bank 1 oxygen (O2) at its lean limit

Possible symptoms

- Engine Light ON (or Service Engine Soon Warning Light)

P1131 Ford Description

A Heated Exhaust Oxygen (HO2S) sensor indicating rich at the end of a test is trying to correct for an over-lean condition. The test fails when the fuel control system no longer detects switching for a calibrated amount of time.

2002 gmc envoy 4.2 liter 6 cyl code reads bank 1 too lean

too lean can be from leaking manifold, vacuum leak, injectors on that bank, low fuel pressure

2000 chevy silverado p0171 ; p0174; p0300

Sounds like you have a serious vacum leak.; DTC 0174 and 0174 are lean conditions on bank 1 and bank 2, 0300 is random misfire. The only thing I can think of is a big vacum leak like the brake booster / vac line leaking, or maybe the intake manifold is cracked ... even a stuck-open EGR doesn't normally lean a motor that much. Start by checking for a vacum leak, if the motor will idle you can spray a little WD-40 around ports and lines >> if the idle speeds up or becomes smooth you on the right track in the area you judt sprayed.

What is Pc171 Code

It's P0171 & P0174 not Pc 171 & Pc174 ! The engine computer has detected a lean condition ! That mean's it's not getting enough fuel or has a vacuum leak , bad O2 sensor ! fuel pump getting weak . fuel pressure regulator weak !
P0171 - System to Lean (Bank 1) The Adaptive Fuel Strategy continuously monitors fuel delivery hardware. The test fails when the adaptive fuel tables reach a rich calibrated limit. Refer to Section 1 , Powertrain Control Software, Fuel Trim for more information. Air Measurement System
  • MAF sensor (contaminated, damaged, malfunctioning, etc.)
Fuel System
  • Fuel pressure regulator (leaking, malfunctioning, etc.).
  • Fuel filter plugged, dirty.
  • Fuel pump (weak, check valve leaking, etc.).
  • Leaking/contaminated fuel injectors.
  • Low fuel pressure or running out of fuel.
  • EVAP canister purge valve leaking (when canister is "clean").
  • Fuel supply line restricted.
  • Fuel rail pressure sensor (incorrect reading).
Air Induction System
  • Air leaks after the MAF.
  • Vacuum Leaks.
  • PCV system (leak, valve stuck open, etc.)
  • Improperly seated engine oil dipstick.
Exhaust System
  • Exhaust leaks before or near the HO2Ss (exhaust manifold gasket, mating gaskets, etc.).
EGR System
  • EGR valve tube/gasket leak
  • EVR solenoid vacuum leak
Secondary Air Injection
  • Damaged/malfunctioning secondary air injection system (mechanically stuck valve).
  • P0174 - System to Lean (Bank 2) The Adaptive Fuel Strategy continuously monitors the fuel delivery hardware. The test fails when the adaptive fuel tables reach a rich calibrated limit. Refer to Section 1 , Powertrain Control Software, Fuel Trim for more information. See Possible Causes for DTC P0171. See Diagnostic Aides for DTC P0171
View Freeze Frame Data to determine operating conditions when DTC was set. Observe LONGFT1 and 2 PID(s). Refer to Section 2 , Adaptive Fuel DTCs Diagnostic Techniques for more information.

2001 Mercury Sable: code for System Lean to Bank 2= Car Idles too high. Possible causes?

sounds like a air leak ,, bank 2 sensor 2 ?? refers to after the catalytic converter ... could be a faulty sensor but more likely an air leak .... even a faulty fuel tank cap seal is enough to cause problems on these systems

Problem code p2187

code p2187 refers to system too lean bank 1==causes -- fuel pressure--injectors--intake leak---ECM It also refers to adaptive heated oxygen sensor (HO2S) control bank 1 no signal===causes --wiring ---HO2s---ECM Have a pressure test done on the fuel manifold to check fuel pressure ,regulator and filters.. Check for vacuum leaks in the manifold including all hoses.. Replace the oxygen sensor.

Hissing sound in the back of the engine

It sounds like you definitely have a vacuum leak. Trace your vacuum lines coming out of the intake manifold. There should be a diagram under the hood, on the shroud or on the underside of the hood. If not Google search the vacuum routing for your vehicle. Its possible that you have a line that has been rubbing against something causing a hole, a line could have broken because the heat dries them out and they crack, (plastic lines) or a vacuum line could have just popped out of its grommet. Hope this helps.
