You can start by spraying the belts with Belt-lub which can be purchased at any auto parts store; the lub will also extend the life of the belts. Also check the adjustment to see if the belts need to be tightened.

its a pulley, not the belt. most likely the idler pulley. the bearings inside are going up not a hard piece to replace and the pulley is around twenty dollars at advanced auto parts

My pulleys n serpentine belt makes terrible squeking sound how do i stop it

Look closely at the belt routing for any pulley not perfectly in line, straight with all the other pulleys. Use a straightedge if you can. If it's an old belt and missing any ribbed areas on the underside, or severely cracked, it needs replacing. Old belts get glazed and cause squeal. Also make sure the tensioner pulley is keeping the belt within proper limits of tension. Should be an indficator on the tensioner pulley.
With belt off or slackened, check every pulley for noise, wobble, smooth spinning with no rough catches, anything unusual.
Good luck.

1988 Delta 88 makes terrible squeking noises while turning, power steering fluid is ok - belt is shiny on top and has wear on tread side

Sounds like you are in the right area. There is a good chance that the belt is OK and just needs tightening. I'm not familiar with this model but I'm presuming that there is adjustment available (Usually the pump is mounted on bolts that you can loosen and then lever the pump out a little to tighten the belt.

That should cure the issue. Failing that, or if you have already tightened the belt, time for a new one I imagine.

05 Pathfinder front of the engine is squeking sounds like belt or pulley

It could be either. You can check (2005 pathfinder recalls) and it will state all the recalls on that vehicle. Sometime the belt gets worn and weather cracked which will make it squeak, because there's not a good gripping back going over the pulley's. The pulley's are moving so fast that the belt slips. I would check the belt for cracks and it would be a lot cheaper to go with changing out the belt first. Even though you may not see cracks, they could be there and it could also be stretched. Good Luck

Change moter alt belt keeps breaking

Hi the altenator belt? if it keeps snapping then your altenator is rather starting to seize up or its not fitted correctly, normally if its squeking its to loose.

Spin the altenator by hand and see what it sounds like, if its hard to turn or noisey that the fault.

hope this helps.

My 1992 sl1 saturn was stolen and recovered when I got it back I got it back with a loud squeking noise coming from the serpentine belt area. Sounds like loud crickets and when I accelerate the squeak gets...

It sounds like an idler pully needs replaced. The bearings are going bad. It is not hard to do this, but more than likely that is what it is. You should also replace the belt.

My belt is squeking I spray it and it works for alittle while then starts again

You need to replace the belt as it is worn. The spray is OK as a very temporary measure , in the end the belt will fail. When you have it changed make sure  you check the alternator or tensioner bushes and bearings. If these are worn then the new belt may become loose and slip in a short space of time.
