Question about 2005 Chrysler PT Cruiser
The 3.3/3.8L crankshaft sensor is located on the rear of the transmission housing, above the differential housing. The bottom of the sensor is positioned next to the drive plate
You never mentioned the code that you got while scanning the car. However, crankshaft sensor problem is quite common on these models and i have replaced it many times.
I understand your concern driving the car. However, it could stall and leave you stuck at any time with bad sensor.
I wish i could have a better solution.
Let me know,if needed further assistance.
Hope i helped you.
Thanks for using ' Fixya ' and have a nice day!!
