Question about 2000 Ford Taurus
The rev. limiter is NOT in trans ,and IS located in pcm as part of the programing .

I think the rev limiter is programmed into the pcm (powertrain control module) It is to prevent engine or trans damage from over revving or very high rpms.

The limiter in which you are referring to is in the trans. I really don't know how to remove it. I take all my internal trans work to my tranny shop. I just never had a reason to learn how to build transmissions. I really wished I could be of more assistance.
