Question about 2003 Oldsmobile Alero

Passenger side mirrior broken away from car--Oldsmobile Alero '03 I backed up into a mailbox on the side of the road and it broke the side mirror's plastic attachment away from the car. It is hanging on the side of the car now. It is still attached by a little bit on the bottom and by the eletrical wires. The eletrical wires still work, as I can still move the mirrior from inside the car. I'm wondering what I should do? Can I fix it myself? If so, what would need to be done and what tools would I need? If not, approx how much would it cost at a car clinic? Are things like this covered under insurance plans normally, and how would I know if it is covered? Thanks!!

If your insurance were to cover that, you wouldn't ask a
stranger on the internet, call the insurance agent

You can remove the inner door panel and replace
the mirror yourself, maybe,if you have automotive
experience

This is a social web site ,so no idea on price

No dash or tail lights for my 03 alero and all was well before i pulled unto the street

first check fuse 45 in the box under the hood. If you, try swapping the AUTO PRK relay (#19) with another relay to see if that's the problem. I believe it's one or the other of these. If not, please get back to me.

Plastic clips for 2003 olds alero passenger side broke. nothing wrong with motor. i need the clips not the whole regulator assembly.

I do not expect you can get it from your dealer. They will probably seel it included with a complete assembly.
So should do scrap yard unless they have a bad assembly mounted on an accidented car and allow you to get the needed piece/part removed by yourself (if they are open to)
Good luck

Cant find fuse box

When you stand in front of the car, look at the battery.
now look furter away from you - that's the air filter casing. (It has 4 screws fastening it, 3 are easily visible)
now look even further away from you - THERES THE FUSE BOX!!! (it has a screw in the middle.)

Replacing rear passenger panel in 2003 Oldsmobile Alero

well first thing is to cut out the damaged section take it to salvage yard and cut out repair section just slightly larger and since most salvage yards wont allow the use of power tools or torches ... i suggest useing a cold chisel to make that cut just make it larger so you can do more precise triming with the proper tools at shop. here is details with pics on the installation of the new panel http://www.rustrepair.com/11_steps.htm if this is helpful please rate

Trunk leaking water thru vents in the side walls

Easy to fix. Remove trunk liner or peel back on passenger side. Squeeze tabs that hold in the vent housing and push out. You have to loosen the bumper panel over in the wheel well area. This is just two bolts that take a 10 mm wrench and a plastic body clip. Remove vent from outside of car. Take off old gasket and throw away. Clean vent and metal around where vent goes completely with lacquer thinner. Use a product such as Lexel to caulk around where gasket used to be. Be liberal with caulking, it all covers. Reinstall vent and other parts in reverse order. Poblem solved. One hour to do and no special tools required.
