Do you have the self leveling rear suspension? If yes, then probably what you're hearing is the compressor running until the air pressure is boosted to a point that levels the car.

If this is what it turns out to be, I'd check closely for leaks in the plumbing to the rear shocks.

Van starts then shuts down seconds later

Sounds like a fuel problem (fuel pump or clogged lines). Possibly a coil problem (no spark to burn the fuel). Depending on what van and engine you have.

1991 Olds cutlass supreme 3.1 started fine and drove fine for about 7-10 miles. I shut it off and went back to start it 5 minutes or less later and it turns over like it wants to start but then just stops...

Your problem may be one of the following:
First check or just replace the fuel filter. Usually located under the car in front of the rear axle, drivers side.
Next, the fuel pump may be worn out. Usually they just stop working (running).
Next, check the fuel pressure regulator. Usually located on the front fuel rail, drivers side.
Is the vacuum line attached? Not leaking or rotted?
Also, do you smell a strong fuel odor when it wont start? May be one or more stuck-open injectors, or the coil pack is bad.
Checking these in the order listed will more than likely fix your problem.
The clicking noise indicates the battery can no longer run the starter, which also means the fuel pump wont run either.

1991 miata made a noise that sounded like liquid sloushing in the side door.

Sounds like you rear hood drains are blocked.

Do a web search on how to unblock drains on Miata or Mazda MX5

Both manual sliding doors on my Toyota Sienna will not open

If you can remove the inner door panel you will see a maze of cables running to the various locking points on the sliding door. If the cable going to the FRONT latch on the sliding door is broken (or in my case, simply dislodged inside the door) the door acts as if it is frozen shut.

The front cable is short, and easily replaced even by a newbie mechanic.

1991 honda drivers side fan runs after engine shut off

If the engine is hot the electric fan will run until it is cool. As long as the engine isn't overheating and the fan doesn't run for more than 10 minutes or so it should be ok. If it has two radiator fans they should both be running though.

1990 ford van relay block

Sounds like you just aquired this vehicle. If you have, and everything electrical is working you are good to go. When a vehicle is built they equip it with stub outs to connect optional equipment from the factory. That way the dealer can add the appropriate wire loom to the optional equipment at a later date if the customer so requests. They build the wire loom to be able to accept a tachometer, analog gages, or other optional equipment. By doing this all the extra plug in points are there to utilize according to the build sheet so no splicing is needed. I hope this helps you. If not please seek this site out for further help if needed. We are always here and glad to help you.
