2003 hyundai accent starting problem~! My car has starting problem. So when it happens, I use starting fluid. Its good working using it. But, not anymore. I experienced different symptoms. Once engine start, dont have any problem. But,today, my car seemd to turn off the engine. Its first time today. I already changed battery, starter, fuel filter, purge valve in autoshop. and I changed 3belts myself in engine room today. Mechanic told me I need Canister and canister close valve. But those are discontinued~! Is it Anyother reason with that problem? Please help me~! My car is all of me.

    No checkengine light on~!

  • humansound Mar 17, 2011

No, when I drive, It happened seem like a engine off. Its Ok under redlight for while. It happened while driving. and it began to have problem with engine starting even if use starting fluid couple days ago. I dont know exactly 'bog down'.

  • humansound Mar 17, 2011

The mechanic already opened Canister. So he told me I need it. But I didnt check fuel pressure yet. If fuel pressure is low, what parts are problem? coz, the car is driving good, once starting engine.

  • humansound Mar 17, 2011

But Canister can affect engine starting? Its is kind of filter mainly.

Is the check engine light ON? if so then the car has detected the faulty part and stored the information about it in the PCM in the form of fault codes.

If there is no check engine light then does it bog down before it stops?

Check the air fuel mixture and the fuel pressure . Have you checked them?

There are more possible chances with what the mechanic said the canister must be bad. The chances of fuel pressure not normal is very minimal because once the engine gets on it is working fine.

Yes it can as it because when the fuel pressure inside the gas tank fuel due fuel expansion increases it sucks it up and Fresh air is pulled through the canister where it picks up the gas fumes and then is pulled into your intake manifold where it goes into the engine and is burned up and comes out the tailpipe as CO2 and Water Vapor (in a perfectly clean burning engine).

If the canister is bad the air required is not pulled up. so it can cause the condition you are facing

I have a 2003 Hyundai accent. Everything feels fine but the release point on the clutch is very high.

Check to verify that the fluid level in your clutch cylinder is correct. With hydraulic clutches, there really is no "adjustment," but if the fluid level is low, the clutch plates won't move far enouth.

How to check for lose fuel pressure hyundai accent 2002

A mechanic would use a fuel pressure gauge, you could spray starting fluid or carb cleaner into the throttle body to see if it will start on that.
Also check for spark at the plugs.

Car will not start after refilling the gas tank on a 2003 Hyundai

sounds like you have a bad vent on your gas tank
next time try leaving your gas cap off after you fill and try and start then
if this works just drill a vent hole in the gas cap
or change the tank vent filter

2001 Hyundai Accent - Automatic Trasmission fluid

It is a proprietary Hyundai transmission fluid. Don't use anything other than the Hyundai stuff. This fluid has superb lubrication properties, but it breaks down much quicker than the specified 30,000 mile fluid change intervals. I highly recommend having both the fluid and filter changed once a year or once every 15,000 to 20,000 miles.

Tatter Todd quickly came to the rescue. I followed his guidance of shifting through all gears, circulating and spreading the tranny fluid, being patient, and it worked. I ended up having to add more fluid which fixed the problem.

Thanks!
