What other motor will bolt up to a 89 Mazda B2600i 2.6 efi G6 4X4 5speed want to keep the same trany

any mazda engine of the G6 family that runs a 5 speed tranny
probably up to 95 B2600 or later
if you are looking for a different make of engine altogether, the transmission bolt up may be a problem
remember ford ranger and mazda B are the same manufacturer just a badge difference

5 speed trans. hung in 4th gear

Can;t be sure on this one except to tell you that you may have a bent or broken shift fork in the tranny. The only way to find out is to remove the shifter from the top of the tranny and see if you can see the fork and move it in and out of gear. If not the next step is to remove the tranny and take it apart. With the information you gave that is about all I can help you with unless there is more info you can give to me.

any transmission that is for a straight six engine. doesn't matter what car it comes out of as long as it is hooked to the same engine it will bolt up to yours.

89 ranger transmission

The trans gearing is all the same, the rear end gear set is where final drive ratio is determined
