Check your fuses under the steering columb area, and also check fuses and relays, that is located in a power distribution black box under the hood, on the drivers side.

Brake lights work til u turn headlights on then no brake lights and taillights go out dash lights. Dem

I feel the two problems are unrelated because there on separate fuses check your dimmer switch for the dash. for the rear brake lights check the fuse. if the fuse is good you have a bad ground. if the fuse blows after installing a new one its a ground wire

Rear brakelights and turn signals do not work

The turn signal and brake lights are controlled by the turn signal switch.
You did not mention parking lights so I will assume they work.

Could be a faulty turn signal switch or a wiring problem between the dash and the rear of the van.

1998 honda accord, with the headlights on the tail lights are on but turn signals do not work. if head lights are off turn signals work unless i apply the brake, if i apply the brake the brake lights work...

It sounds as if you have a bad earth to either one or both of your rear light clusters. If it only happens when you indicate in one direction then that is the offending side.

I have a 96 town car

Ok. First of all, chk all the bulbs. Well at least the four parking lamps. The ones that are supposed to flash. One or two are burnd out. It happens. The flasher(s) work on resistance and that is provided by the bulbs.Brake likes and the turn signals are electrically associated.and you already said one side does not work, so let's start with bulb inspection Let me know
