You have to get under it and decide what your
going to do
Have the muffler size etc you intend to install
wriiten down.
You can install it any number of ways
The correct way,the cheapest and easiest
way, is what you want.
An entire kit may be easy for you and not my
choice for other reasons.
Your tools and skills plays a role there

It depends on how many of your pipes are still good. You might also need a couple of adapters and of course some clamps. Also you would have to buy a kit to convert the system to a dual exhaust if that's what you want.

Is there a less expensive muffler than a flowmaster 5o series delta flo that has same sound?

Vacuum that operates doors and water valve is interrupted. Look at back of AC/heat switch.

How to install a 2002 FORD EXPLORER 4.6L V8 timing chain. Is there any other parts I should be aware of besides the cam and crank gear, timing chain and guide, tensioner arm and tensioner. My mechanic...

Unless the timing chain suffered a catastrophic failure, ie broke into many pieces, you should not need to replace the cam and crank gears, the tensioner arm and tensioner. The timing chain and guide I can agree need to be replaced, but without a physical examination, you can't just say "replace all these parts". If you do let this mechanic do the work, insist on him giving you ALL the old parts. Then take them to another shop and ask their opinion. You may find the mechanic is honest, but I suspect not.
