# PLEASE HELP ME # I have a 2005 bmw x5 3.0d sport. it jerks when coming to a standstill as if someone has hit you from behind? It only does it in D if you drive it in DS or Tiptroninc it drives fine all the time. Also it usually does it when it is slightly warm and then will do it all the time. It changes up and down gears fine otherwise. It is a 6 speed auto box.

Hi:) This sound like the valve body in the transmission has a warren valve that is allowing fluid by the valve when it get hot. See when fluid is cold it is thick and can be held back with a 0.006" gap but when it get hot the fluid will pass by the valve. It can be repaired if got to in time.

Hi:) Hard to say take it to a transmission specialist not a regular mechanic regular mechanic will want to replace the who thing that would cost thousands where a new valve body could cost $500.00 installed but could be less if all is needed is a cleaning.

Yes the solenoid controls the shift fuild pressure and shift timing and cost about 50.00 for the part and labour to put it in.Behind the shift solenoid the is a shift valve that they can **** out bigger and put a over sized valve in and repair the damage. Here is a exploded diagrams of the transmission.

Hi John, are you saying that solenoid 4E87 can be changed and is located inside the transmission? My transmission is ZF6HP19 and I have solenoid 4E87 issue as well.

My 2005 BMW X5 lock isn't working when I lock it with my key. Please help me.

If you mean just that one lock isn't working then my guess is the operating rod from the handle to the lock itself has come off, or some similar fault. If this is the case then you will need to remove the door trim, handles etc to access it. If you are not familiar with this task its best given to someone with the correct tools to remove the trim without damage.
If you have a different fault come back to us.

Jerking and speed getting down rapidly

You will need to connect the vehicle to the manufacturers software i think for this problem ,although my first suspect is a coil pack or something along these lines but in cases like this i would need to drive the car to get any idea whats wrong

I have a Semi-Automatic 2005 BMW e46 318i. The engine randomly cuts out (stalls) when decellerating, coming to a stop, or when stopped. Other than this problem the car drives fine, and the engine starts up...

The problem you are having sounds suspiciously like the torque converter is not disengaging to allow your engine to spin freely until you are ready to accelerate. If when decelerating or coming to a stop you feel a jerking sensation similar to driving a vehicle with a manual transmission and bringing the vehicle to a stop without depressing the clutch, then the problem you are having is faulty Torque Converter Control Solenoid or a bad Torque Converter itself. If you have any other questions please contact me here. Good luck.
