How do i tighten the timing belt tension on a 1999 dodge stratus

The belt tensioner is not adjustable. To loosen a tensioner you would swivel the belt tensioner away from the belt with a long flex wrench or ratchet and to tighten the belt you would let the spring in the tensioner move the swivel back into the tight position. An internal spring tightens the tensioner pulley against the belt. You will need to get a smaller belt or replace the tensioner if the belt is "too loose" after you swivel it back into the tight position against the belt and release pressure.

How to tighten the side mirror on a hummer H3

OK. Just to make it clear it was the mirror vibrating on the swivel not vibrating on the door. I went to the store and purchased a package of those plastic "velcro" pieces. I turned the mirror in towards the door and cut a piece of the plastic big enough to fit under the mirror so it wasn't sticking out when I slide the mirror back into place. Took the backing off the plastic velcro piece and stick it to the mirror stand under where the mirror would rotate back to normal. The plastic acted as a shim and the mirror does not shack anymore. I tried to take the plastic piece off the mirror to see if there was any screws I could tighten but it looked like the mirror swiveled around a post and could not be tightened. Any why, this did the trick. I hope this will help others.

How do you change the #3 spark plug on an 01 Blazer?

This is the one behind the steering shaft on the driverside, a swivel sparkplug socket and a small extension and a small peice of rubber hose, you will use the swivel to get loose then use the hose to slide on the plug and remove it by hand the rest of the way, to install you will dothe same, use a small peice of hose, slide onto the plug and tighten by hand as far as you can, then sldie swivel on and tighten, make sure not to over tighten, they dont need to be so tight, and make sure not to crack the plug, have soket as straight as it can go. its not to bad to do, ive found that getting the plugs through the wheel well is so much faster then from inside the engine compartment. hope this is helpful. good day.

Alternator belt is broken

Get a new belt from an autoparts store, to suit your vehicle year and model.

The alternator has to be loosened to fit the new belt. There's usually two locations to loosen

  1. the top adjuster clamp arm; and
  2. the lower pivot bolt. On the 4cyl motors its in behind the oil filter. Uncertain about the v6.
Once loose, the alternator can be swiveled so that the belt will fit over the main pulley.

Make sure that the alternator does actually rotate. If not, get it serviced or replaced.

Swivel the alternator back down and tighten the clamp arm so there's about 8-10mm of movement when you press the belt.

Tighten up the lower pivot bolt.

If you don't have the tools or skills to do this, have the car towed to a garage.

Location of oil filter on 2010 equinex (4 cylinder)

When Looking At The Front Of The Vehicle, The Oil Filter Is Under The Right Side Of The Intake Manifold (Located Just Above The Bell Housing). In Order To Change It, You Will Need A 36mm ECOTEC Filter Wrench (Its A Really Shallow Socket) A Swivel, 12" Extension & Ratchet. The Thing You Are Removing Is The Black Cap. Rotate It Until It Can Be Removed By Hand & Lift Out. When Installing The New Filter, Make Sure The Little o-ring Came w/ The Old Filter & Drop The Filter & Cap Straight Down Into The Block --HAND TIGHTEN-- Until The Factory O-ring (Its Reusable) Contacts The Block & Finish Tightening w/ The Socket - Just Needs To Be Snug, Dont Stupid Tighten It or It Will Break.

Old mini 1275 to heavy on steering can power steering be added to lighten the steering

no it cannot ,check the upper and lower swivels ,these tend to tighten and are adjustable by means of spacers under the nut ,thin metal washers which are shims they also have grease nipples .inflate tyres to 1,8 bar as well this will help .If it has them big alloys on then will make it heavy as well ,although i wouldnt mind betting that the swivel joints are worn inside causing the heavy steering ,also inside the swivels are spring loaded cups and iam sure this is your problem the muck and rain has got into them

The main belt feel off my 93 saturn SC1

To put a serpentine belt back on your car, you should jack the right side up, and remove the tire first. Remove the plastic cover behind that to gain access to the side of the motor with the pulleys on it. On the side of the motor you will see down low the belt tensioner pulley witch swivels with the use of a wrench, i think it is a 14 or 15 mm wrench which is needed. Put the belt around all the other pulleys in the format they go by the picture under the hood, saving the last part of the belt to go the tensioner.Swivel the tensioner and but the belt over it, and put everything back on in reverse order.
