Try the switch, get the switch out and check the plug for power, if you have power its the switch. always check switch first, then check motor power if it has power than motor is bad. start with fuses first...

I press the rear dfrost button and the light comes on but the window is not defrosting

The Impala has a bad wire connector under the passenger side kick panel. You will find a burnt spot in the connector. Cut the wire on both sides of the connectot an solder in a wire to bypass the connector. I believe the wire is purple. This will fix the rear window defroster but even after this fix you may find that the rear defroster will no longer turn off by itself.

2006 Chevy Impala power windows won't work

It does sound like you have a short in the master switch on the drivers side. If the passengers switch does not work, check the left master switch and the window lock switch.

New battery in 06 mazda 6

1. Turn ignition switch to "on" position.
2. Open passenger window completely from passenger side window switch.
3. Close passenger window completely from passenger side window switch, and hold switch for an additional 2 seconds.
4. Turn ignition back to "lock" position.

That's it. Works like a champ. And here you thought it was more than just a battery dying....I did.

Oil changes/2006 Impala & 1998 Dodge Diesel 2500 Ram

Hi,

For your 2006 Impala, it would be on passenger side next to the ac condenser. It is on the bottom front of the engine. It might help if you can get under the front bumper lying down to visually confirm location.

For your 1998 Dodge Diesel, it would be on passenger side towards the back/bottom. Likewise, it might help if you can get under the front bumper lying down to visually confirm location but should also be visible looking down on the engine.

This is of course assuming that both vehicles still have the original designated engines.

Hope this be of initial help/idea. Pls post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Thank you for using FixYa.
