LOL
A TSB / recall was posted saying the min / max level indicators on the tank are misleading ... fill to min when cold ... goes to max when hot :)

Start you truck. let the temp gage get to where it will start blowing the antifreeze out. than turn your heater on full blast. if the temp goes down and the water doesn't come out than you need to change you thermostate.

usually if your head gasket goes out or is trying to than your truck will smoke. you can start your truck and let it run for a min and go to the tail pipe and stick your hand in front of it. than take it and smell it. if you can smell antifreeze throught the exaust than it might be possible the water is getting into your engine. than if that happends than yes i would suspect head gasket.

Another thing is is you are over filling your resivour and raditor it will push out the excess throught the over flow tank. fioll your raditor until you see the fluid at the base of the fill tube. not all the way up. than fill your resivour to the MAX cold line. do not go over this point. . let your truck run. And see if it still pushes the water out of the over flow if not. the problem is that it was being over filled..... let me know what you find out.

My 2004 Pontiac Aztek isn't blowing heat. It blows cold air. I had a coolant flush in december.

You probably have an air bubble and therefore doesn't have enough anti freeze in the system. Carefully remove the radiator cap when the engine is running and verify it and/or notice the hot/cold marking on the overflow tank. The system needs to be full to heat.

i would open the raditor and check it has liquid in it to start. (do this with a cold engine) if not fill up if there is i would get it drained and then refill.

Check the evap fuel canister...make sure its not clogged with dirt or fuel. Check the evap canister vent solenoid- it should be open with the car off.

Motor oil leaking into air to air intercooler

Check the oil line going from the oil pan to your turbo. Somehow the oil that is mean to keep the turbo lubed and cooled is blowing through the impeller into your engine... not good.

Truck runs rough after sitting for 6 hours or

Hi,

You have a blown head gasket, it runs rough because the coolant is leaking into the engine, and the water gushing out when you fill the radiator is a dead give away.

Sorry mate it has to be rebuilt.

Thanks

Heater will not blow hot air while truck is idle. When truck is moving hot air blows. There is some clear redish leakage underneth the truck. How can I fix this problem?

You are low on coolant. Find the leak, the red is most likely the coolant.
Coolant comes in 2 colors red and green.
Your leak is probably either a hole in a hose or a faulty water pump. The water pump has a small hole, usually on the bottom, when the seal goes bad, it will leak there. The only fix is a new water pump.

If it is a hose, just replace it. Make sure when you fill it that you fill the radiator and the overflow, just filling the overflow could cause it to over heat.
Also, depending on your climate, you need to mix your anti-freeze with 30-50% water. If you live in a very cold climate, you want to go with 30%water-70%anti-freeze.
Make sure that you use the right anti-freeze. red with red, green with green. Some green ones are now compatible with the red, if you change the color, make sure it is compatible.
