2008 Highlander Maint Req'd reset proceedure

This is the reset proceedure for a 2008 Highlander with a key-type ignition:

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine.

Look at the odometer, and verify that it displays "TRIP A". If it is on "ODO" or "Trip B", press the black stick next to the odometer to read "TRIP A".

Turn the key OFF.

Press in, and HOLD the black trip meter reset button, hold it IN.
DO not release it.

Turn the key ON, do not start the engine

Observe the Odometer display. You will see 5 dashes, then 4, then 3, then 2, then 1 dash, and finally, 5 zeros. Then, whatever number that was displayed on "TRIP A" will be re-displayed..

Now release the black trip meter reset stick.

This completes the reset procedure, and it will be back on in 5,000 miles, to remind you of you next oil change.

I have a 2008 dodge magnum se I have been having problems with it starting, You could put the key in the slot and hold it and eventually it would engage after a few failed attempts. Then one day it would...

sounds like a bad ignition switch, which is most likely what blew the fuse the first time, the igniton switch does'nt have anything to do with the lights on the dash or headlights, but it will affect the radio and the starting of the car

I just purchased a new battery for my 2003 highlander Toyota. Now my dashboard lights are very dim but the car is running well. What could it be?

Are you sure that you just do not have the dash illumination control turned down? If the battery was weak, the engine will not run very well, nor would it start easily.

Have a 2003 highlander 6 cyl. 2 w/d. Engine light

Reset the light by holding the trip odometer in while turning the ignition key on.(do not crank engine)Keep holding the trip button till the light blinks. This normally is shown in your car's handbook.

Our 1998 Ford windstar has went all EXORCIST in dash board etc.

at the minimum, since you mentioned all the idiot lights coming on, your alternator is fried. have someone put in a new alternator. if it's still acting up, have someone go over the computer.
