The pump is located in the fuel tank. I recommend either purchasing a haynes manual or taking to a mechanic.

Hi I have a 94 Lancer, that at first was hard to start when cold, then few days ago died at idle and now won't start, it trad to but won't turn over?? Have replaced leads, spark plugs fuel filter

if the problem is the engine not turning over or turning very slowly i would suggest getting the battery condition checked , also as you said hard to start when cold initially this also points to a battery that has little to no power in it , maybe not holding charge or not getting high enough charge from alternator , have you tried to jump start from another vehicle ( with the other vehicle engine running) ?

Put in a new alternator ran my 94 honda accord for about 1/2 hour then drove 1mile and the car died

Unfortunately your alternator is probably not good make sure that the connections on the alternator or Skype make sure the connection on the batterie are tight and clean but you may have just put in a rebuilt alternator that didn't get rebuilt correctly it's probably bad

I own a 2000 mercury cougar. it has a problem that I dont kno anything about. it starts driving and dies. first it drives normally and then it dies. people in car shop told me that its a dead alternator....

Replace the fuel filter with a new one, see if it solves your problem, then I would have the fuel pressure tested to see if the fuel pump is faulty. Some times they will run, but won't hold enough pressure to run an engine at speed. Or you could just get a new pump and replace it, so at least you can rule it out as the culprit.

I syphoned gas from my car and now it wont start

1st thing ,make sure you haven't taken out too much gas out. ck.fuel filter. loosen fuel line up on carb. or fuel injection ,whichever it has. If able to get to turn over see if fuel getting to engine. If not, fuel pump bad or fuel filter plugged. If able to get car started, disconnect batt. If it dies, alt.probably bad

97 honda accord lx keeps dying and won't stay on. I replaced the battery, alternator and starter. It turned on but just stayed on till it drained the battery. what could it be?

have someone turn the key while you listen for the fuel pump to come on in the fuel tank. it should only come on for a few seconds if not than your fuel pump is bad.

Today i was driving my 96 nissan altima when i made a turned the car died, i stopped and turn it back on and it came on for a second and died again. please help

If it is starting fine and the starter turns without any drag to it,then it can be anything from a stopped up air filter to a stopped up fuel filter. Also the fuel pump may have said good by,or a crank sensor has gone bad.If you narrow it down to electrical, check the alternator. The out put, checked at the battery(battery should have 12 volts)should be from 13.65 to 14.25 while the engine is running. If the alternator is putting out less than this, replace it.Would not hurt to clean battery terminals and cable ends too.Besides electrical, check the fuel filter by removing it and blowing threw it by mouth. If you can blow threw it easy, then it is fine.If you can not, then replace the fuel filter.Check the air cleaner by looking at it and see if the filter is full of dirt and such ,blocking air flow. The auto zone can check the codes for you,and it will narrow the field of search for the problem.I hope this has help, and if it has ,please let us know, thank you.

94 accord won't start

The Main Relay under the dash, close to the steering. Brown or Gray box with about 8 wires tend to go bad at relay contacts inside. To troubleshoot, turn ignition key to on position and tap the relay box, you should hear fuel pump activate. If it starts, the relay is bad. If it does'nt, you need to check voltage and grounds at relay wires. Everything else you mentioned seems to be okay. I had 3 hondas, different years that have done the same thing. Good luck
