Three places to look. 1) Brake lamp fuse, 2) Turn signal switch and 3) the brake pedal switch. Brake light power comes from the fuse up to the turn signal switch down to the brake lite switch on the brake pedal and then on to the light bulbs. Start by putting the 4 way flasher on. If the brake lites flash, then the bulbs are good. That eliminated the fuse too. so the problem is the other two.

My 2004 Chevy Impala Brake lights don't work. I checked the bulbs and fuse. All is ok. I replaced the brake light switch with a new one. Still nothing. Is there a relay somewhere that I am missing?

You have 2 brake lite switches . Did you replace the one for the brake lite or the one for the single lite. Check again please...when you replaced the brake lite switch .. did you check and see if the bakes lights were on and if they were on. If they were the problem is in the adjusting of the switch. If not check for the relay..Good Luck!!!

Third break light works but other two dont

What this eliminated here from your list of problems is the brake light switch - if that failed, all 3 brake lites would be ON all the time, or OFF all the time. Since your 3rd lite works, the problem is in wiring from the one lite (that doesnt work) to the other. The wire to both nonfunctional lites will come from one lite to the other (you must remove the plastic trunk panels and trace the wires). The terminal lite will have just 2 wires (its not the problem). The problem will be in the lite that's been daisy-chained to the other light (the one with 4 wires (2 in, 2 out to the other lite)).
Check the suspected light socket and wires for old repairs that have corroded/fallen off (dont laugh - I've seen it), and general corrosion (the usual culprit). Whatever you find, replacing the sockets for the lite bulbs costs just a few dollars at the parts stores --- if you cant solder wires, use crimp unions (or small wire nuts) and E-tape over them to keep out the weather. The pros will solder (the wires) and heat-shrink the connections to the new sockets. Heat shrink is a type of tubing that shrinks under heat of a heat gun and when properly done, keeps out the moisture.

the best thing to do is get a 12 volt lite tester the one with the pointie end. cut your harness turn on left turn signel. with tester lite grounded tuch the ends of the cut wire from truck strip a small piece of wire covering and attach to your trailor harness when left signal works on the trailor do the right blinker the same way as for running lites turn on your park lites and see witch two wires are lit connect to trailor making shure lites are dim last wire are for brake lites now you well know where to connect to new harness good luck cj

I have replaced several brake light switches in this particular car.The brake light switch is located under the dash on the brake peddle arm and is not expensive or hard to do .This seems to be the biggest problem with the brake lights:)

Tail lights dont work

Oh boy, Chevy uses 3 important wires to make up their tail light harness. Brown is used for your parking lights and yellow and green are your signal and brake light wires, yellow one side, green the other. You have some seriously crossed wires. Start with tracing the lic plate lite since that works. Make sure it leads into your main parking lights and the ground wires from these tail lites aren't cut. The lic place lite will work with just power because the body of the lite is grounded with the bumper. Then make sure that there is power to the signal wires. You can do this with a test light and the signal light switched on. You don't need anyone to step on the brakes since it's the same signal, only interepted. Most importantly, Remove the tail lites and check grounds!! Good luck
