Question about 2001 Pontiac Grand Am SE

1 Answer

I try to start my 2002 grand am se, and it tries to start but doesn't kick over. I've had a couple of shops look at it. I've been told it was the fuel pump, the fuel filter. One of the shops claims there is nothing wrong. Yet my car won't start. Something is wrong. Yes it has gas, new battery, feul filter. If my car does start it only runs for a couple of days. Any ideas? I finally had my uncle who is a master mechanic take it to his place. He thinks it is the starter, just looking for confirmation or another idea.

Pontiac grand am se 2002 won't turn over and

my pontiac did the same thing and all i had to do was replace the 40amp fuse. you can have someone turning the key while you hit the starter from underneath, if it starts then you need a new starter, if it dont then no, its something else. mine did the exact same thing and it was the 40amp fuse under the hod.

Knock sensor in 2002 xterra se/sc

ok if it is getting spark at spark plugs that rules out ignition, let go to fuel, needs to check fuel pressure and also injector pulsation, if no pulsation fuel will not get into cylinder's, also a knock sensor will not keep an engine from starting, it controls ignition timing once engine is running.

My 2002 Dodge Caravan SE (2.4L) doesn't want to kick into gears

Automatic transmissions can fail at any mileage. First thing you need to do is check the fluid level, make sure the transmission is full, also check the condition of the fluid, burnt odor, strong varnish smell, or signs of contamination. If the level is correct, and the fluid is red in color, without any strong odors, you may have some type of valvebody issue, however, given my experience, these transmissions are prone for failure around this mileage.
