On the tensioner there is a little square hole on the frount of it, that is for your 3/8 socket ,but use a breaker bar insert it into hole and turn it and you will see belt come loose,, get diagram of how it winds back on at the parts store you got the belt at.

My 1997 chrysler t &c is making a loud clunking noise, steers hard and overheats. Mechanic says it's tension pully. does that sound right

It sounds like it to me. Your van has a serpentine belt which is pulled tightly by the tensioner pulley, hint the name "tension" pulley. If this is defective you will experience the problems/symptoms you have listed, hard steering, over heating, and the clunking, which must be the defective tension pulley. All those problems should resolve immediately after it is replaced. Don't forget to replace the serpentine belt too, for preventative measures. How this helps...

How stop the serpentine belt from fallen off the tensioner on a 1993 town & country. Is there a aftermarket pulley wheel for that tensioner to replace the flaw problems.

My 1991 Grand Caravan did that too. It had the 3.3L engine just the the T&C (91-93). The tensioner was the problem, hit a puddle on the right side and you'd feel the power steering go and then right away the engine would start to heat up. I tried making the belt come off, but could never duplicate it, only splashing through puddles of rain or wet slush would do it. I never found a tensioner with shoulders on it, but a new one like the original fixed it.

My 2007 Town and Country touring 3.8L is making a noise and gets louder when put into gear at a idle but cannot hear while I'm driving just stopped and idling?

if the noise started after the belt replacement, check the belt tensioner. They are notorious for seizing at the pivot, especially after belt replacement. Hope this helps.

How to change serpentine belt on a 2005 chrysler town and country. Is a special wrench needed for the tensioner?

There is a youtube video that shows how to change the serpentine belt/tensioner/idler, but on my 2005, the tensioner looks OEM and doe snot have a squared off end to easily use a wrench to turn.

I think I have a sepentine tool (flat with square 3/8's drive) I can use to turn the tensioner.

Adjusting the tensioner on a 2002 Chrysler T&C

That van can be tricky, and if you just using a ratchet or wrench to get the tensioner released, you probably wont get it.
Goto Autozone, you can rent a serpentine belt tool, or buy it out right for around $25.

Van brakes squeal/whistle even when stopped

Sounds to me like a dry, loose or worn serpentine belt. With the motor idling, lightly spray the serpentine belt as it's spinning with WD-40 or other oil based lubricant (Don't spray near the alternator). If this doesn't work, turn the mortor off and check the tension and for cracks or worn spots. The brakes will not squeal when you are completely still.
