Question about Isuzu Rodeo

1 Answer

I have power steering fluid pouring out from around a bolt on what I feel is the Pinion. It is in a 1999 Isuzu rodeo...could it just be a seal or more? My mom ran something over and it threw off the alignment, caused this leak, and also when ever you turn, no matter how slow you turn it the wheels always screech like you are peeling out.

I drive a 1998 isuzu rodeo v6. Just wondering what the thing is called that brings the power steering fluid to the tires. I'm assuming that's where it's leaking from. Thanks for any help!

Hi Dillon J
The items name is Power Steering Unit
Your leaking power steering fluid from either the power steering unit, or a hose that connects to the power steering unit...
You need to have it repaired as soon as possible, because if you loose all your fluid it will be almost impossible to steer.

When i pour the power steering fluid and turn on my car to the steering wheel it pours it from the right front bottom

You could have a broken or loose hose or if its rack and pinion steering it could be a bad seal in the rack and pinion.

The steering fluid pour out of my car on the right side of my 99alero,what could it be and how do i tell what it is,pls help

It sounds like you either have a power steering pressure hos that has burst or the Steering Rack and Pinion seal has failed, have it put on a rack to inspect which is the problem. DO NOT drive this car without power steering fluid, you will burn up the power steering pressure pump, a very expensive part. Have this inspected ASAP.

How many quarts of power steering fluid does my 1993 Isuzu Amigo hold?

I have a major power steering leak i cant track and its not coming from the pump

What can commonly happen is the seals inside the rack and pinion and allows the fluid to fill the bellow boot(accordion boot). Take a small pick and poke the boot on the steering linkage. If fluid pours out, replace the rack and pinion unit and then have it aligned. If you need further instructions, feel free to let me know.

Power streering went and fluid is pouring out the bottom? I need to know if this is a rack and pinion system.

Possibly, but more likely a break in the high pressure hose that runs from the power steering pump to the rack and pinion assembly.

How do i put transmission fluid in my 2000 isuzu rodeo

The transmission fluid fill port is actually on the tranny. You have to get under the car, find the tranny and feel around the top for a bolt or a hole. There is a bolt on the bottom to empty the fluid, and to fill it is a pain in the ***. I had to rig up an empty quart of oil with two small rubber hoses. One hose you put it the hole at the top, and the other you blow in. There is no room for you to pour it in. You can also buy small hand pumps to feed in the fluid. After filling, (when fluid overflows from the top port) start the car and put it in drive then reverse and repeat two or three times. You'll find you have to put more fluid in after this.
