Trouble code miss fire on cylinder #1 and the plugs look fine. The engine light comes on around 3500 rpm and no power to accelerate?

It does not matter how the plug looks to you ,,replace it, it could look brand new and still be bad thats what your computor is telling you.

The flashing light means the problem is serious enough to damage the catalytic converter.
The code means cylinder 1 is not producing power. So it could be fuel, compression, or ignition related.

PO300 code


Code 300 means you have a random miss that is not serious enough to pick one cylinder. The computer measures RPM on each cylinder as the plug fires. So it is not that a cylinder is not firing but rather that it is not producing enough power.
Other causes are vac leaks and lack of fuel.

Stumbling on acceleration


You may be cruising down the wrong road with the exhaust idea but then you might be right. An exhaust restriction should also cause the engine to run hot. A faulty cat should also set some codes.
If the injectors are dirty, you may have a very lean fuel mix on one or more cylinders under acceleration, which would go away once you are not under load. And injector problems won't set any codes unless an injector stops working completely. Low fuel pressure could cause the same type of issue.

The engine coolant temperature is high. Your other Codes are for missing cylinders on cylinder 1,2,3,and 4. Get the Codes cleared and start over. Changing the plugs and wires,etc could have generated the missing cylinder Codes.

Autozone,Advance, and Oreilys will scan for free.

Check your engine for an IDLE SPEED CONTROL SOLENOID, which may be in the intake. Or a fuel pressure regulator.

A lot of times people work on the spark side and forget the fuel injectors. They can cause a miss.

You'll need to have a compression test done, it sounds like you may have a burnt valve in cyl.#1. If the compression is good, then I'd look at checking the injector in that hole, it may be plugged.

remove the plug from the #1 cylinder, and install it into the #2 cylinder , and put plug from # 2 clyinder in to #1 plug hole, connect plug wires, and start up vehichle, and if computer shows misfire on # 2 cylinder , then you have a bad plug, possibly porcelin insulator could have a hair line crack in it, hope that this information has helped you.

Engine has severe miss @ idle under load. Runs fine when driving. Plug and Plug Wires are Ok. Put on a Scanner and got code Po135.


The DTC (Data Trouble Code) P0135 is for the O2 sensor Heater Circuit Bank 1 Sensor 1. Bank 1 will always be the cylinder bank with the number one cylinder and spark plug, and the number one O2 sensor will be located before the catalytic converter and usually at the rear of the exhaust manifold or just after it. According to the firing order diagram bank one is the cylinder bank that is closest to the fire-wall and there should be an O2 sensor located there around the rear of the exhaust manifold or just after it. If the engine is a 4 cylinder then it will be the O2 sensor before or up-stream of the catalytic converter. Check for any damaged wiring or loose wire connector at the O2 sensor and if they are alright then replace the O2 sensor and then re-set the check engine light. (The auto part store should re-set the check engine light for you if you purchase the O2 sensor from them, and be certain that it is the correct and assembled O2 sensor for your vehicle and not a put together universal O2 sensor)

5.3 L Missing and Rough Idle Intermittently


i have a 2001 chevy z-71 5.3L. I keep getting a random/multiple misfire code for cylinder 1 . I have replaced plugs, wires, coil pack(only on #1 cylinder)., and fuel pump. I still keep getting the cylinder 1 misfire code. I put truck on a scanner and watched the cylinders. # 1 misfires at idle but quickly stops misfiring at around 1000 rpms. you can here the engine miss at idle but truck runs great on road . anyone else ever had this problem?

#1 Misses Intermittently. Engine Light On.


Check for carbon tracking on plug and wire. Looks like a pencil mark. Replace both at the same time

Check engine light comes on temporarily - engine chuggs at idle


Before changing you pcm try cleaning your egr valve. remove the valve and see if its stuck in the open position if so use a small pick to clean around the spring.
