Check under the hood on the driver side is the PCM or Power train Control Module. The Transmission Control Module or TCM is under the dash on the driver side. It's actually kind of a small 4 inches by 3 inches with what look like wings coming off the sides and two bolts.

Please get back to us if you have further query else please accept the suggestion.

Where is the transmission control module located on the 2006 Jeep Commander

well that depends on unstated optional drive train.
but most TCM migrated to the ECU, and was renamed PCM for just that reason.
due to faster processors magic, one ECU can do job of 2 things.
but some transmission options still have TCM box.

why not just look a jeep dot com
look a your unstated drive line and see what you have
or read the FSM for your car?///// "factory service man(book) or cd:"
or at

i see 6 driveline here.

I changed the transmission filter and gasket on my 2006 Jeep Commander. Now the vehicle will not go into any gear when I shift it.

did you read the manual on exactly how to check aTF level
or guess?
hint, its not like engine oil checks or axles. at all.
you disconnected that side connector that connects all those
shifting solenoids
or shorted the wires, there, and blew a fuse related to TCM

2007 jeep grand cherokee. why does my left turn signal stays on when im driving?

Q1,only on cluster or there and both left corners of car
key to solving this ,knowing just that.
Q2,car drive perfectly and with headlamps on OK?
no charge/bat warning lamps in cluster, etc.?

can be ...ONLY 1 THING, OR 2?
this car, does not work like you think its no 93
this car (i own one)
has digital comes now
and a network
and now a virtual blinker (called just software now)
just like cruise control, software only.

so when you move the lever, it closes a digital switch.
fixing thing works best first knowing now it works.'
unless rich and shot gun swaps are you style.
this jeeps, the blinker switch wire goes
steering controls SCM ,there.chapter 19
649ohms is the code for left (cav2 >cav3)
then SCM send data on to the network "Can-buss" complex.
if switch fails, then it cant cancel
ca1>2.>3, all there go open status, infinity
the SCM see that state and transmits the command, blinks off,.
the code is "neutral"

the cluster sees this command and killls left blink
why would left kill fail and not right, Impossible.same code.

then same command goes to front MIP box. to FCM
front control module. if it cant here the netural command it hangs.
the actual module name is"front controL"
so if you have no scan tool you are sunk.
scan it and there will be errors. I bet.

what can you do besides scan it
sure fuses, and rest battery.
pull battery neg lug,but may kiLLL radio (lost pass word)
i say fCM scrambled.
or scm same.
one of the other. if the cluster fails , scm
if cluster works (stops blinking then FCM failure

My 2006 jeep commander limited 5.7 shifted into 3rd while driving and couldnt shift higher or lower when i pulled over. i when to advanced auto and got the code ran. the problem is the shift solenoid A....

you want to know how to diagnose complex A/T transmissions here, on fixya ,now that would be hard. we dont even have a jeep transmission section here, (just a zillion random posts)
why not use a real jeep forum, i think,
but... posted 100 times.
  1. check all fuses?
  2. not using a real scan tool fails. post ALL DTC codes do not tell me what they mean post them, all.
  3. In a shop we use a real scan tool that can read ALL, jeep codes and all extended jeep DTC codes, P1, P2, etc.
  4. if not we fail.
  5. So we see that solenoid A, we check input to the solenoids for proper voltage in all gears. and if the TCM sends the correct voltage there, then the the solenoid is bad, or worse.
  6. The TCM shifts the box. so. we make sure the inputs to the TCM are correct and its outputs. if not we find out why. first.

The TCM is the transmission brain, it can be s sep. box. or part of PCm. (i need transmission model)

The TCM watches inputs, and shifts accordingly.
the TCM can put the Transmission into limphome mode.
ill stop here. why not take car to a real ASE shop, and ask them
to test this, using real tools, not autozoned or other stores, where clerks are clueless to how TCM work,. or how tools work.

no help from Chrysler , guess you meant they wouldn't guess for you. (they cant, they are not diety like yet ,nor is guessing fun or good for anyone on complex systems)

Fcm location

The FCM is somewhere in the passenger compartment (in dash) location. The best solution is to take the vehicle into an authorized service dealership and have them diagnose this issue.
