Question about 1997 Ford Taurus

1 Answer

I have a 97 ford taurus and i have replaced the starter, CV axal, struts, replaced brakes and sway bar and now my car wont start again. It was stalling out first only in reverse and then it was stalling out all the time now it wont start. I thought it was the fuel pump but they checked it and it is turning on and the gas shot out. we replaced the spark plugs and still wont start. now i think it could be the pack the spark plug go into because it doesnt have a spark. I dont want to put more money into it if its not though, does anyone know what i should do?

There is no way to guess over the internet,
you know that

You need to leave it at a repair shop, that
knows how to diagnose your issues

Apparently where ever you have been going, doesn't

Clunk noise when turning

Check the cv shaft boots, if they are torn the grease inside will have come out and now the joints inside are worn out. Worn cv joints will cause noises when turning.

What is the clunking sound on the front end of my 2002 Ford Taurus SES?

Look for worn or loose struts-this suspends the upper portion of the wheels. The lower suspension is the control arm and lower ball joint.

You will need to raise each wheel on the front and check these parts for wear or looseness.

What is the rattling and thumping sound coming from my front suspension when I go over bumpy roads on my 2002 ford taurus. I changed the struts.

have you checked the sway bar links? they are a common failure. grab hold of the ends of the sway bar, and try to push up and down - hard. any clunking felt indicates a worn ball and socket joint in the link, and the link will need to be replaced. good luck!

Front end shakes bad when I brake

My dear if according to you,

You've replaced tie rod ends, lower ball joints, sway bar links, struts and strut ends, and the warped brake rotors and the issue is still at hand; then you ought to consider replacing the hubs.

Good luck.
