Try having the truck where you can reverse for 75 to 100 feet shift truck into 2whieel then into reverse and back up 100 feet this should unlock the differential. if not get under truck there will be a a small switch mounted to the transfer case near shifter remove switch push rod in with a screw driver then re-install switch on transfer case.this will work.

my 2001 tacoma has push buttton 4 wheel drive. It wont go into 2 wheel drive. The fuse in the cab is good. I cant find any other fuses for 4 wheel drive. There is no juice to the switch on the shifter. There is no juice to the plug on the differential or the one on the transfer case. I have checked any grounds I can find and every thing is in good shape. Any Ideas?

Change clutch

Sounds like transfer case issue if 4 wheel drive works and 2 wd does not. Clutch slippage would be worse in 4 wheel drive more than 2 wheel drive, more to push.

I have a 98 chevy blazer with the 4wheel stuck in high

You will see the motor move when you engage the switch on the dash. The motor is on the bottom of the transfer case behind the transmission. Most likely it's the actuator for the hub lockouts under the battery tray. They wear out after a few years. It could also be the cable that locks the hubs that goes from the actuator to the hub lock in the front differential. Also, check your front differential oil level, if it's not getting oil it won't disengage. Check to make sure the hoses between the transfer case and the actuator are not leaking. If that isn't the case there is a air activated switch ont he top of the transfer case where the air hoses plug into, it has three hoses that go to it. That switch screws in but you have to lower the transmission cross member to get to it. It could also be bad, it costs about twelve dollars. Good luck.

2004 toyota 4 x 4 drive is stuck and won?t work

NO ITS NOT CORRECT! i think they've trying to pull money out of you! i had this problem on my Montero sport 01.
there is a differential shift its not allowed to use it in day to day mode u use it only when urgently needed when u stuck up some where or where is to much snow all. what you can do now is to bring your car to the car service and ask them to change differential bearing should cost you around 40 bucks to fix not 2000!
