The fuel lines are two different sizes and will only fit on the matching pressure or return fitting on the fuel pump. The pressure line is the bigger line and the return line is the smaller line. The middle fitting on the pump is for the EVAP system.

Check if the fuel pump is well positioned, if so then remove the fuel host after the fuel pump to see if the fuel will come up.

Need to know what 3 lines from fuel tank go

The pump line, or feed line, goes to the fuel filter and then to the engine's fuel rail. A return line leaves the fuel rail and sends gas back to the tank. Usually, the feed line is slightly larger than the return line, not always.
The third line is a vent line for emission controls-routing gas fumes from the tank to the charcoal canister, where it is stored and later sent to the engine to be burned.

My 1996 dodge neon is not getting any fuel to the system. theres gas in the car a brand new fuel pump and filter. what could be wrong?

Thanks for choosing FixYa and welcome to the site. Fuel is pumped out of the tank by the fuel pump. It then goes to the fuel filter. Then, it goes through the gas lines to the injectors and engine. You need to scan your gas lines and make sure they are not damaged or clogged. If the lines are ok, you need to check your injectors. Check your fuel pump fuse/relays and reset button, if equipped. I am guessing the car will not start? Thanks for using FixYa.

1997 chev runs but seems like not getting enough fuel.

For about $20 or less, I would think a shop or parts supplier could do a fuel pressure test to confirm, but I'm thinking fuel pump needs replace.

Fuel line connections coming from fuel pump on 1999 Chevy S10 4cy

Id say the fastest way to find out which line is the pressure side is to put both lines into a bucket and turn the key on for a second. the pressure line will have fuel coming out of it...other is the return line.

Lots of black smoke comming out exhoust pipe

It sounds like your fuel pressure regulator is bad. It is located on the end of one of the fuel rails, it will have a vacum line hooked to it. Pull the vac line as soon as you shut it off, if there is gas in the vac line the diaphram is bad or it could be stuck open that is why you have black smoke and are using alot of fuel. You should be able to purchase for around $60.00
