Question about 1999 Hyundai Accent

Plug wires will not pull off as easily as they should ,currently I can not pull them off why ?

After the plug wires have been on there long enough there is some oxidation build up and it makes it more difficult to pull the wires from the plugs. With enough wiggling and pulling it will come off. I recently just change the spark plugs in my car and I had to use channel lock to grab the tops of the wires and pull them off.

My 1998 Passat has fuel coming to the engine, current going to the plugs but won't start. What could be the cause? Help!!!

Clean the air filter? What, not bike weather yet? It has spring fever. I wonder how you're measuring these things, but you should try for a concordance from the ODB II port (the computer) and see what it thinks. I'm guessing there is a bad spark wire; if one goes over 40 ohms in operation (that is, lots of current, so be safe) it might be failed out by the computer. It might be failing to pull a vacuum because of a leak in that system. Does it turn smoothly and easily with plugs disconnected?

How to get spark plug wires off

Whatever you doo don't pull them by the wire as it will pull out . If they don't turn easily on the plug try spraying some wd40 down near the end and then use a bent screwdriver to pull the boot up . Try working from the end of the boot as pulling from the end where the wire goes in could cause the boot to split in half .

4 runner washer pump not working

First thing to do is check for current. Remove the wiring plug from pump motor, which is in the bottom of the washer bottle. Using a Circuit tester or Multimeter get someone to operate the switch it should light up, try both connectors to confirm. If it doesn't light up then the problem is in the wiring or the multifuntion/trafficator switch. If it does light up then the pump is faulty. This is easily replaced, it just pulls out from the bottle, replace the pump and grommet, available from most parts retailers.

Review your car's owner's manual to see if it has any tips on removing the current stereo. It may have a diagram of the wiring and the area where the stereo is installed.

  • 2 Disconnect the battery to avoid an electrical short while working with the wiring.
  • 3 Use a screwdriver to remove the retaining screws holding in your car stereo. Grab hold of the stereo and pull it toward you to remove it from the dashboard.
  • 4 Get a pair of DIN tools to slip on either side of the stereo, if the stereo connects to the dash using spring clips and bolts. These thin tools slide in easily, release the clips, and allow the stereo to come out easily. You may need to remove dash panels when bolts hold in the stereo. Take out the bolts and screws that hold the stereo in, and then simply pull it out.
  • 5 Look at the wires on the back of your car stereo. You should see 2 wires attached to the stereo. A wiring clip protects the stereo from vibrations and holds the wiring harness steady.
  • 6 Pry the wires up from the stereo and loosen them using a pulling/pushing motion. After working the wires back and forth, you should be able to pull the wires straight out.

    Can't remove plug wires. plug wires are routed through holder on front of engine and don't know how to remove

    Are you talking about the loom separators on the top of valve cover holding the wires? If so, you can just pull them off (they are pushed down on little studs on top of valve cover screws). They also open from the bottom. Use a little pick or screwdriver and pry them apart-careful, they break easily.
    Be sure and rout new wires in exactly the position the old ones are at, to avoid issues of current cross-feeding in the wires. Best to do one wire at a time.

    My 2003 dodge ram 1500 4.7 will not start i checked all of my spark plugs and all of them were wet smelled like gas what could be the problem ? im thinking its the fuel pressure regulator

    easy to check the regulator. pull the vacuum hose off. If it's full of gas, the diaphram is torn. try cranking with the hose off to see if gas shoots out the regulator vacuum port. OK?

    I HAVE A 2001 F250 V10, that will not start sometimes. When I turn the key, the engine turns over, but it acts like it is not getting any fuel. If you crank the steer wheel one way or the other it will...

    If there is a short that makes any difference, it would have to be interfering with the current to the ignition. You an easily tell with a test light at the ignition coil. But I doubt it. The ignition leaves the column right away, and anything that would cause problems you would think would blow a fuse. If it is no fuel, then it would start on starting fluid spray. It there is no spark, you could see that with an inductive timing light or spare spark plug (don't hold a plug wire by hand or allow the arc to jump too far, by inserting a spare spark plug on the wire you pull off.)

    Spark plugs

    just pull the wire off the plug, it wont damage the plugs. It may feel like they wont come off or feel like you are going to break something, but don't worry, they essentially clip onto the plug. When you install the wires onto the plugs, you have to actually push fairly hard until you hear a click. If they are loose or come off easily, that is actually not a good thing.
