How can I get the vin number from manufacturer production number

Dear Kendrick,
You have it backwards.
The manufacturers production number is "inside" the VIN number. The manufacturers number will be, (for example), the last six numbers of the VIN number.
Sorry.

How do I get this: Twice a number minus a second number is -1. Twice the second number added to three times the first number is 9. Find the two numbers.

Two equations:
x = first number
y = second number
2x - y = -1
y = 1 + 2x
2y + 3x = 9
2(1 + 2x) + 3x = 9
2 + 7x = 9
7x = 7
x = 1
y = 2(1) + 1 = 3

Is it possible to use chassis number to trace the engine number of a car? Is it also possible that some cars does not come with engine number?

Every engine has numbers. Using the chassis number won't match the engine number if the engine has been replaced.

Engine number on durkopp diana scooter vintage vintage num116322

I had a friend who had one of those in the late 60's. Depending on age, it may not have had an engine number. If it does, it would be on a flat machined part of the crankcase and you _should_ be able to see it with the engine in the scooter. I am assuming that 116322 is the frame number, which is confirmed by one of the articles in the main link below.

This states that the Engine number is the same as the frame number, so I would use that.
Reg Number:TXY 510
Frame Number:108503
Engine Number:108503
Body Colour:Blue
Cc:200
MOT ExpiryDate:None

Just bought a 1931 Desoto, the serial number on the registration is 3A17410. I can't find anything with that number. Is it possible the number is a body style or engine serial number?

This is way out of my league, but here is some info that might help.
Before 1954 there was no uniform VIN number used in the USA.
In the years leading up to 1931 Chrysler Corp and a few other car companies used a FEDCO plate on the dash or firewall for the serial number ID of the car. The car was registered by this number by some states, and some used the engine number. Starting in 1931 the serial number was changed and moved to the door post. So a 1930 car should not have a plate on the door post.
The engine number was always stamped on the block. Also keep in mind 1931 Chrysler products were carried over into the 1932 model year, including Desoto.
The serial number depended on the make and model unlike cars of today. A series 31 model started with a number 6 or 8, while a series 32 model started with letters like SA or CFS, a series K started with the letter K, and so on. Actual serial numbers were seven digits.
On most models the serial number is also stamped on the frame near the front spring support.
You can do an internet search for DeSoto FEDCO numbers and serial numbers to get a general idea of how the serial numbers were arranged. You can also contact Chrysler Historical Society to see if they have the build card for your car. The build card would have both the original engine number and serial number. There are other resources including the Antique Auto Club of America.

Engine identifcation and year. engine number is FH12069.its in a ford truck

all the information that you need can be decoded from the vin number(unless you suspect that it is not the original motor in the vehicle)I just looked at a bunch of motor numbers and not one looks like the number you posted. Are you sure that that number is the motor number and not the casting number?

2004 tl acura radio reset code - if number on glove box higher than preset numbers what do I do

The numbers on the radio screen after pressing 1 & 6 are the serial number to retrieve the radio code!

The 4 digit number on the glovebox is probably the radio code, keep pressing preset number 1 until the first number is on the screen, then press preset number 2 until the second number is on the screen, then press preset number 3 until the third number is on the screen, then press preset number 4 until the fourth number is on the screen!
