Question about 2004 Jeep Grand Cherokee

1 Answer

My engine light is on and sometimes flashes. the code is P0206. I have replaced the #6 injector, all the spark plugs and coil pack rail and I replaced the fuel filter/ pressure regulator. the wiring to the injector is good so I dont know what else to do. I disconnected the battery for 5 hours to clear the code but in 10-15 minutes of driving it the light comes back on. Please help me I need to get our family vehical fixed ASAP thanks in advance.

Many Jeep lovers have had to change the computer out because of electrical signaling problems. After receiving the code, the car runs rough and sputters. The only fix I have seen is to replace the computer. You can get them relatively cheap used. Read this before rating. It should clarify a bit for you. Thanks. http://www.jeepforum.com/forum/f13/cel-codes-p0206-p0306-611053/

What is causing misfire on cylinders 2, 4, and 6?

Could be injectors, but I would focus on the spark plugs and coils. I'm not sure if you have a coil pack on your car, or individual coils on each spark plug. If the plugs and coils are ok, then check the injection. All your codes are the same bank, so it could possibly be your fuel rail is not getting correct pressure.

2007 Hyundai Accent SE 1.6L Flashing check engine light and no power. Automatic transmission, car doesn't want to shift.

Injectors, compression, several engine mechanical issues ( burnt valves, weak or broken valve springs, piston rings, head gaskets, cracked block or heads ) and bad ECM drivers for injectors/coil packs can all cause engine misfires. The flashing light means possible catalytic converter damage .

Engine light flashing whole car shakes and motor sounds like a helacopter..... tested it and it said spark plug 4 misfired........... replaced all 4 spark plugs and it's still reading as a misfired spark...

Sounds like it's either a coil pack or an injector to me, try switching the number four coil pack with any of the other coil packs if the miss follows the coil pack you need to replace that coil pack. if not it's either a fuel injector or a mechanical problem inside the motor, I would rent noid lights from a local auto parts store and look for injector pulse in the cylinder with a misfire, if the noid light is flashing it may be better to leave it to a professional as it is likely internal engine damage. hope that helps. chris

Misfire Code/Check Engine Light. Many Repairs,Cant Clear the code

My guess on this is gonna be a cracked ignition coil. Have it tested by someone. It is very common for these coils to crack and cause a misfire.

I have a ford explorer 99 but it's giving a error code PO306 what do u think it is

It sounds like a misfire. Check spark plugs 5 and 6. It could be bad fuel, bad plug wire, or weak coil. Check the fuel injectors as well. Other possible causes could be an egr valve stuck open, vacuum leaks, low fuel pressure.

My 2003 Mustang Mach 1 has a skip in the engine when I first start it up. After I drive it for a short distance ( about 6-7 miles ) the skip goes away. I thought it might be a bad spark plug, so I replaced...

I'd suspect a sticking injector--car should have set the check engine light. Read the code(s) to progress further. If the coil pack were a problem, it would not be likely to fix itself. If the codes indicate an injector problem, try an injector cleaner in the fuel--worst case, replace the bad injector. The codes should indicate which cylinder to change the injector.

Check Engine soon light is flashing in yellow, local repair place says it's my spark plugs/coils....but why is it that when I first start my car I smell exhaust?

you have to remove the fuel rails on each side and lift them off the injectors and there is two screws on each side of the rail and there are in between the injectors and when you get the new plugs ask for the double platuim-auto lites and make sure you get a small rubber gas line about 18inches long so you can get the new ones back in and do not over tighten the plug and for the flashing light it maybe one of your coil pack that sit on top of the spark plug itself if you have an autozone near you they will put it on the tested for free and you maybe able to see if they have you truck listed to get step by step how to do the tuneup it www.autozone.com i hope i have been some help to you i have a 2000 Edpedition and there are nice trucks

My 2000 saturn ls2 has a P0206 code. Cylinder 6

Misfiring could be a number of things, but since the V6 has the coil right over the plugs it narrows it down a bit. I would first replacing the spark plugs (and MAKE SURE you gap them correctly). Use platinum. It will be a super pain in the **** to get to because you have to remove the entire intake manifold (the top part of the engine). That's a good place to start.

Put a can of seafoam in your gas tank too. That should clean out your fuel system. You can pick that up at most any autoparts store. I think walmart might have it too.
