Question about 2006 Mercedes-Benz C-Class

2 Answers

I recently purchased a C180k Classic, the car has just done 59000kms and is still under warranty. The problem is the Aircon does not work. When you switch it on , hot air blows out of the ducts on the dash , and it is rather annoying. I have been told to refill the gas , but worried that it could be something else as the gas should not have run out in such a short space of time. Please help me , or should i drive into the workshop , not sure if the aircon is under warranty and ask them to repair it..... Help Please

If the car is under warranty I would definitely make an appearance at the dealer. If the A/C is not working then they should check it. If the components are good and its low on freon then I would want to know why and whose going to fix the leak. Worst that can do is say no. With such low mileage though I would go ahead and make a scene if you know what I mean.

Worst case scenario they say its not covered, I would take it somewhere, or if you prefer the dealer I would pay to have them check it. If all it needs is freon they can leak check it, or if there is a component needed I would hope that its covered under warranty because they aren't cheap. Let me know if you need anything else. Thanks.

What could be causing loud grinding noise when i switch on aircon? Aircon now not working but only makes loud sound.

Sounds like the bearing or part of the clutch in the A/C compressor has failed, or possibly component on a/c fouling on something due to recent repairs however would be unlikely and probably just a coincidence..

Check A/C compressor turns by hand, should be firm but not make any noises.

Check for fouling components related to a/c compressor clutch.

Is there a way to bypass the ac compressor when it locks up for a 04 Chevrolet Malibu classic with a 2.2 engine

I don't know if that vehicle with that engine fitted was sold without air conditioning.

If there was a no aircon version for that engine then you should be able to fit a serpentine belt which has been designed to fit the pulleys on that engine with no aircon compressor. This would work as long as the aircon pulley was well clear of the new belt when fitted.

If you go into the local chev parts dealer they can look up the belt routing diagrams of that engine with and without the aircon and it should be clear from that if you can just fit the shorter belt to your engine and by pass the aircon pulley. They will verify for you that it will fit and supply you with the correct belt. Pretty basic I think.

My VS Commodore is missing under load, I have recently been using the aircon and seems to have started missing after the aircon has been turned on.

check the emissions vacuum system hoses and connectors..also there are ac controls that make the engine speed up slightly to run the ac compressor..if all else fails do a tuneup on it..good luck..

Hi there (There was no i20 model in the drop down list below) I bought a Hyundai i20 3 months ago. About a month ago my aircon didn't work anymore. I took it in to Hyundai Bedforview Service Centre....

I believe you have a valid issue with your dealer. I would speak to the owner and tell him you wish to return the car as a "lemon". If he has a problem with either repairing or replacing under warranty, I would call Hyundai and ask for someone in charge of either customer satisfaction or the dealer's account. I would also after explaining my problem, tell them I am considering filing complaints with the Better Business Bureau and Dept. of Consumer Affairs. Do these things in a calm, rational fashion and smile at them because you are in the right. Best regards, Don Tucker

We just purchased a 2008 Audi a4. Sometimes when I drive the "Middle brake light warning" comes on and beeps. The car recently had a 20k service, new tires and new brakes done before we purchased it.

if it is a 2008 why don't you ask a dealer? it has to be under warranty. Asking an audi mechanic is light years ahead in common sense as opposed to asking strangers to look in a crystal ball.

The brake pad warning light has come on and my car uses lucas callipers with a sensor in the right front brake. Is there any special techniques to changing the pads and sensor? the car is a 2002 c180k...

Nothing special just be carefull of the clip at the pad to chassis harness , they can be a bugger to get apart sometimes . Have a good look at the new one before you attempt to take apart the one one the car.

You should still be under warranty. If you had your work done at a dealership or other shop then take it back right away and explain what is happening.A good reputable shop will take care of there customers. It might not be related to what was done but it could be under warranty and the dealer will know if it is or not. Also look over your warranty papers and get to know what should be covered and what is not.It can save you money.Good luck.
