Sounds the the starter has gone out. Will have to be replaced.
Any Autozone or autoparts store will be able to look the exact starter you will need, and also offer ways to replace or show you how to replace it your self.

My 2001 Ford Windstar brakes locked up driving down the road the other day. The brake pedal was just floppy and only engaged when it was near the floor. I was close so drove it on in and by the time I

t sounds like a battery problem ,, and or possibly a problem with the rectifier circuit.l That is what converts the AV current from the alternator to DC. if its pushing AC power the battery wont charge and you will have these issues with electrical malfunction.. you will also need to check your ACC fuse for the player and TV that inst working.

I have a 2001 Ford Windstar w/3.8. I am having electrical problems. The starter turns over and I have headlights and some interior lights but that's all, have no power to the fuel pump, coil, fans, AC,...

Your best bet due to the extremely complex electronic control systems in the car is to have the dealer diagnose it and you repair it to save money.

I have a 2001 windstar, and it will start but the headlights/interior lights go dim, and lose power windows/locks...what could be wrong?

Sounds like it may be the alternator. The best way to check is to take it to your local AutoZone or some other auto parts store that has free diagnosis, and have the alternator load tested. Another possibility could be a fault in the power distribution box, located under the hood. This box holds all the main fuses and relays for your cars electrical system.

Battery keeps dying on 2001 Ford Windstar.

Check your battery terminals make sure they are clean and corrosion free.
Also check all ...A-L-L courtesy lights in your car. there are some ceiling mounted lights that are passenger operated and may be on... Also check your glove compartment and consoles for lights.
Also check for charger cords... These have indicator lights and sometimes can drain the batt as well.
Also, under the hood, is a gravity activated lamp . Open the hood and make sure that it's going off and staying off as the hood closes...
Let me know if you find anything...

Ford 2003 Windstar Interior Floor Lights Stay On

to repair this problem you must remove floor lights from seats and check the circuit for either a short or a stuck switch use a multi tester this can get to be irritating as the short may be not directly behind switch could be along wiring that runs through car my suggestion if your not electrically proficient is take it to an electromechanic shop or simply unplug the light from socket to avoid draining the battery.
