Possible, with rad cap off, let vehicle idle until coolant fan comes on then shut vehicle off for 30 minute cool down. Top up rad, install cap and drive and recheck heater operation and any overheating.
that is just a basic 10,000 km service
check engine light on
undo battery terminals count ten reconnect
clears the codes
if check engine light returns
the code will be stored in the ecu
Hello, if you've changed the pump. cap. and t-stat and its overheating still i need to say that just because you replaced those parts doesnt necissarily mean they work. Im mainly talking about the t-stat and cap. was this your first time installing a tstat? They go in a certain way. Make sure you put it in the right direction. Your vehicles engine might require you to purge your coolant system of all air. On some cars air will remain trapped in the area right at the tstat causing it not to work therefore not opening up and no t circulating the coolant. I would start there myself. If thats not the case, next id flush the radiator. I would like to know what the problem symptoms were wich led yoy to replace those parts please.
Check the fuses, test the relay. If those are good, replace the fan. They go bad all the time. I've replaced many of them. Replace the t-stat and flush the coolant while you're at it, the car's ten years old.
i would get a radiator flush and fill to make sure the radiator is clear and clean. it could be a head gasket if you were losing lots of water but i dont think thats the case.get it flushed out and go from there
