Have your power steering pump checked for proper presssure. Also have the power steering pressure switch checked.

1998 model. Why does it jerk sharply on wet surfaces at 50 mph?

Your Neon could be hydroplaning. You may notice the speedometer suddenly starts indicating a higher speed.

What would cause my 2000 ranger to buck between 45 and 50 mph going up hill

Yea! I'd like to see the answer to this also!
My Ford Explorer 2000 does the same thing going up hill. Especially with a loaded trailer on.
Local mechanic had it for the day and couldn't put his finger on it.
I can alleviate the problem by turning the AUTO Trak knob to 4x4 Hi while driving and the jerking stops.
I'll keep an eye here to see what others think
Cheers

My T100 starts jerking at about 50 mph

That sounds like fuel pressure problems to me. I would try replacing the fuel filter first. If this does not work, you most likely need a fuel pump.

When and how do I use an overdrive in harrier

Over drive should be on (automatic) all the time. If you have it turned off , turn it on. It is for fuel economy. Over drive usually kicks in around 45 to 50 MPH. When you want to turn it off is if you are pulling something on hilly roads. And pulling something and you feel the overdrive kicking in and out even on flat roads

2002 Ford Explorer Jerking when in motion

Does the jerking feel like a fish bite ( especially when pulling a hill?) if so it may need plugs and wires

if you have one bad plug wire the problem seems to smooth out at higher speeds

Hope this helps
