Don't know how many miles on yours but it sounds like you may have multiple problems; possible bad valve cover gasket, failing oil pump (this can be checked with a pressure gauge pretty quickly) worn rings or one broken and worn valve guides and seals. Too many different chances for good diagnosis from a distance. If you have a high school near you, check with them for an automotive shop. Many will check for you free under guidance of an experienced instructor/mechanic.

Blue smoke coming out of the exhaust

start car when engine cold - place some paper in front of exhaust pipe.
If you see dots of oil you have a major engine failure with the lower block of your engine or the rings. This costs a lot of money to fix !
I sent my car to wreckers to be crushed when I had smoke and burning oil smell plus oil when it was cold.

If it is water when engine when engine cold you may have a cracked engine head , cracked head or blown head gasket.
Less expensive to fix but may require head to be re machined if head is warped. If head is cracked then head will need welding.
A cylinder compression test will confirm this type of head problem.

It had an anitifreeze leak, car got hot, now car turns over many times before it will fire, makes noise ,runs rough, stallls at idle, now sputters when accelerating. could it be my ignition control module...

chances are the head gasket is getting ready to blow up on it if your moter runs hot for to long it can warp and or crack the heads i would see if it smokes or looses antifreeze or oil also check to see if your oil look a milky color.

My toyota Lucida diesel engine runs good but ocasionally gives a pop, pop, pop, sound with white then black smoke and looses power .

Probably the oil seal for the valves on the cylinder head are not good, oil is passing through then comes in the cylinder chamber, when it burn the engine oil it makes that white smoke.

the weakest link from water entering engine is intake manifold losing its torque. their are four water ports right next to valve ports. two in front two at rear of intake manifold. they warp fairly easy.so check before re installing

Cooleant hose line broke car overheated car stoped runing no visible steam smoke replaced broken line added fluid car will still not start low compression in two chambers do I have a blown head gasket?

Remove the radiator cap,and fill to very top with coolant, then turn the engine over, and see if it pushes out the radiator ,or looks like a water fountain when turning the engine over,if it does, then the head gasket is blown, and possible warped. If not, pull the valve cover to see if the cylinders that are low, have stuck valves, that are open.Check to see if the motor oil is milky in color. If so,the heads could be cracked.Or head gasket blown.

This could be just old oil and dirt getting hot for the first time in a long time. My 928 will also do this for a while if not driven through the winter, but clears up after a while . To be safe I would clean the area that you see the oil at, and then see if when you start it more oil collects. It could also just be comming from the cam housing(looks like valve cover) check it out well, these are tough engines.

Smoke comes from around engine

Probably a vavle cover gasket leak, small but enought to produce oil, in or on the surface of the motor doesnt take much to a lil smoke from aa hot engine...it could be collectiing in the canals ontop of the motor where the vlave covers sit on the head? or a head gasket problem....inspect it well after you run the car for a lil while, b4 it starts to smoke

Water in oil

I have yet to see a cracked head on a 22R,so more than likely a blown head gasket, unless you overheated and warped the head and worst case a hole between the cylinder wall and water jacket(this is pretty rare). The only way to tell short of using some expensive tools or taking to your local shop is to pull the head and inspect the gasket for leakage wich is generally fairly obvious(separation of the gasket layers, oil and water between water and oil passages)and checking the head deck for warpage. If there is obvious leakage in the gasket you're looking at a top end gasket set if the head is slightly warped you can get away with a thick graphite head gasket,I personally use these as they are very forgiving on slightly warped and scratched head decks and inepensive also, but a severly warped head will require milling at a machine shop or replacement.

Car overheated, radiator has hole in it. Clicking sound when engine is on and I have pressure tested the head and the gasket seems to not be blown. Smoke is also coming out of tailpipe when engine is...

you could have a broken cylinder head gasket...you are loosing water thru the engine pistons that is why you have smoke on tail pipe when engine is running.

our simple test if you have a blown gasket is to fill the radiator up to the rim and then be carefull, do not stay in front of the radiator then ask someone to start your engine and watch the water in the radiator, if the water rushes outside the mouth of the radiator, then you have a blown gasket.

if not, then put the gasket cover and run the engine for 20 mins and watch the temp gauge, it should not over heat.

tnx for using fixya,
