04 trailblazer.antilocks kick in when allmost stopped.why?

Could be bad wheel speed sensor, but if so this usually sets a code. Bad hub assembly may have wheel bearing loose enough to trigger anti lock. Bad news is you must replace entire hub assembly. Don't buy cheap parts store hubs as they do not hold up long. Order quality OEM hubs from Summit or Jegs.

Would bad rotors cause the antilocks to engage all the time

Usually this is a bad wheel bearing. Some times they make noise, sometimes not. You will have to put a scanner on it and find out which wheel sensor is acting up.

Antilocking breakes when ford auto 1989 wont reverse, how to undo auto locking

your rear brakes are stuck on-this may be because the emergency brake cable has stuck and won't release-antilock braking system would not lock the brakes on-they only release the brake when that wheel stops rotating -cheers Denny

ABS light keeps coming on

You have a wheel speed sensor that is not working correctly. The ABS computer is losing the signal from the wheel speed sensor and interprets this as a wheel locking up, so it is going into antilock mode. When it does this on dry pavement when it is obvious that there is no wheel actually locking up it is called "false Antilock Mode" or "Overactive Antilock Mode". This is a pretty common problem on several vehicles.

The system on your Blazer uses wheel speed sensors which are an integral part of the front wheel bearing and hub assembly to determine wheel speed for the front wheels. It uses the Vehicle Speed Sensor (VSS) to determine rear wheel lock-up. The VSS data is shared between the Body Control Module (BCM), the Vehicle Control Module (VCM), The Powertrain Control Module (PCM), the Transfer Case Control Module (TCCM) and the Electronic Brake Control Module (EBCM - AKA "Antilock Module").
The problem is MOST LIKELY being caused by a front wheel bearing being loose (pretty common) which will require replacement of the front wheel bearing and hub assembly. However, it can also be caused by the VSS or a breakdown in communication between any of the modules that share the VSS data.

If you have either of the front wheel bearings making noise (growling or whining) then that is almost positively the cause of your problem. However, if it cannot be determined this way, the computer network will need to be scanned to find out which it is.

Hi the abs light has come my dash board ,what do i have to do to repair problem .thanks

hello andre..... when the abs light comes on it is usually do to a bad sensor. In order to check and see which sensor is bad you have to put the car up in a lift and test each one. IF you still have the antilock braking action occurring you know it is only a bad sensor. If there is no more automatic pumping of the brakes in a hard stop the antilock brake system is bad. THE good news is the brakes will still work, you just have to pump them yourself. Joe

Thanks for choosing Fixya!

The ABS light stays on whilst driving on a Honda CRV

Hello. This indicates that you have a bad sensor or a problem with the antilock braking system [ABS]. If your brakes no longer pump themselves when you make a quick stop you know that the antilock braking system is not working. If they still pump, the problem is more likely in sensor to the ABS system. Joe

When braking right before stopping the brake pedal gets hard and the steering wheel pulls left and noise from antilock motor

Sounds like maybe the Right front brake caliper is bad. I would need more information to tell you for sure. In most cases the direction the vehicle pulls tells me, that side is working. The other thing I would check is a collapsed brake hose going to the caliber. You can't tell by looking, you have to take it off and blow through it.

Abs sensor light wont go off my 2005 polo

Your ABS systems use a combination of electronic and hydraulic systems to modulate the brakes individually to prevent them from locking up. ANTILOCK systems consist of wheel speed sensors, a hydraulic control unit (HCU), and an electronic control unit (ECU). Because of how complex the system is your computer does a self-test. If the check is successful, the ANTILOCK and BRAKE lights will go out within a few seconds. If one of the component of the ABS system fails to pass one or both lights will remain lit. One or both warning lights may also come on while driving, also indicating a problem. If just the ANTILOCK warning light comes on, some ABS component has failed, but the car still has hydraulic brakes. The grinding noise could the the ABS pump or your brake pads could to worn to the metal backing and grinding against the brake rotors. I recommend a inspection soon for your safety.
