When you have your Radio Unlock Code, use the Preset Keys to input this code into your Stereo. You should hear a Beep when this code has been entered, this is an Unlock Confirmation. To retrieve your code, try the following suggestions:

  1. If you have your Service or Owners manual for your Honda, usually in the Glove compartment, look for the Radio Security Code in there. Usually it is on a White, Credit Card looking card, in the Manual for your Honda.
  2. You can also check on the Sides of the Glove box, inside and outside, for the Radio Code. It may be on a Sticker. Sometimes you can also find the Code under the Ash tray, on or around the Door Jamb on the door, or on the vehicle, and in the Trunk, or on the bottom of the Trunk Lid.
  3. You can also use your VIN in many cases by calling the Honda Dealer Service Department, and they can lookup the Radio Code using the VIN.
  4. To gain access to the Stereo Serial Code, used to retrieve the Unlock Code from the Dealership, without removing the Stereo, with the Ignition key to On, hold in Preset buttons 1 and 6 and turn the Stereo On. If this works you will see 2 codes, 1 after the other. The first should be Uxxx, and the second should be Lxxx. Write these codes down before you call the dealership.
  5. If all else fails, you will have to remove the Stereo to gain access to the Serial Number. Write this number down and contact your Local Honda Dealership to retrieve the Unlock Code for your Stereo. There is no charge for this.

The radio in my 2012 accord ex is not turning on. I have checked all the fuses and wiring. This was after I unplugged the battery. And it is not asking for a code there is no lights in the LCD at all.

The radio went into a security lock mode when the battery was disconnected. The manufacturer provides an unlock code (4-5 digits) that must be entered into the radio to unlock the radio. This is on a card that is provided to the original owner from the dealer and is normally in the packet of information that is in the glove box upon purchase. If you cannot find the code, you may have to remove the radio to get the serial number and then contact a dealer to get the unlock code.

Battery is gone on toyota verso, wont open and wont start

When I have a car with a hood that won't open, I'll go through the grill (a matter of Torx(tm) or phillips screwdrivers/sockets/small pry bars, etc.) and operate the hood latch by reaching up under the hood from below, or even disassemble the entire hood latch away from the frame (usually 3-4 10mm machine screws).
This will get you into the engine compartment.
Try to get into your engine compartment sooner rather than later, since a flat dead battery will cause the stereo radio to assume that its been stolen, and then it'll require entry of your 3,4 or 5-digit unlock code before the radio works again.
Your radio unlock code can be found on a card that comes from the dealership at the time of sale. If you need to ask the dealership for your unlock code and they charge you money, consider calling/dealing with a different dealership (its a 2-second computer lookup for them) or post another query to www.FixYa.com asking for your car radio unlock code, specifying the car's year/make/model/engine type and also the radio model number - you'll have to yank the radio to get the model number.
Your car's "engine type" comes from the 8th digit of your car's VIN code (the 17-digit number visible thru the windshield at the bottom of the driver's side).

My husbands car is a 2002 eclipse spyder convertible he just got it he had a problem with battery and when he started the car back afterward the radio states CODE!

When the radio ask for CODE, is asking about unlock code (this occurs when the battery is disconnected); you need enter this unlock code.

Generally this code is located in the owners manual or backside of the radio; if you dont have this info, need to visit the dealer and, with your VIN number, ask for this code number.

Keep in mind that this unlock code is unique for each vehicle, and anyone coudl send you from Internet.

Hope this helps.

Unlock radio code

The code could have been written in the back pages in your manual or there may be a sticker in the glove box or the inside of the fuse box cover. The dealer will charge you dealer price and all there going to do is the same thing i am going to give you. www.radio-code.com. Before you go to that web page, try 0000 first. Good luck and hope this helps. Keep me posted, be glad to help.

Radio Unlock Code

if you bought the car new then there should be writen in the manual the code for the theft lock system on the radio. if pre-owned then it might ,might not be in there. or if you dont have one at all. go to your nearest GM dealer and have them fix it by finding the code. make sure to have them write it down for you incase this happens again.
