Question about 2002 Nissan Altima

2 Answers

I have a Nissan Altima 2003 with over 150,000mls and a 2.5lt engine. The code reader showed a Po650 code. Can you tell me what this code refers to. Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If you are not experiencing any actual driveability problems such as with your brakes, P0650 then the problem may be electrical.

Start your search with the fuse for your traction control system, it is under the hood in the compartment mounted to the passenger side strut tower. If nothing is wrong with that then check your wiring harnesses from that box for loose connection or wire damage, and also under the dash.

Why did my 2005 nissan altima car did not start until I put about 9 gallons of gas in it, the gauge was already showing a half of tank, what was wrong?

Nissan has a problemwith the fuel sender in the tank. You should have a service engine light on and there will be a code telling you the fuel tank has more fuel in it then it can hold.

I have 2005 Nissan altima that wont start. It cranks but wont start. I checked the battery with a portable load tester, good. No codes or check engine light. Fuel pump pumps fuel, wont even come on with...

Nissans are known to have problems with ignition coils which would not show up on code reader. I would start with that. Pull a plug and hold it to ground to see how strong the spark is while turning engine over. If the plugs are wet when you take them out then you can be sure it is in all probability related to coils.

Check engine light came on 05 altima

If you are a DIY'er you can get a OBDII scan tool that connects to your laptop that can tell you the error code and allow you to reset your check engine light. This will save you $80 each time over going to a mechanic for a diagnostic. They are easy to use and will help you know what the issues are if you do have to go to a mechanic.
Check out http://www.fitityourself.netau.net/OBDII.html
Sometime the check engine light comes on if you did not fit your gas cap tight enough. You need a code reader to find out the error code to help solve your problem.

If it is something simple (like a gas cap) and you do not want to get a code reader to find out what codes (problems) your vehicle computer is saying there is. You can try disconnecting the negative battery lead for 5 minutes. This should reset your check engine light. If the light comes back on, you have a problem and can take it to a mechanic or buy yourself a code reader.

1995 Nissan Altima Check Engine light came on.

Dear Brad: There are many auto parts houses out there which now offer free scanning for codes. Auto Zone is just one such retailer that offers this free service. They will scan the car for free giving you the codes and what the codes mean, but will not go into any great depth ans to what they mean unless you happen to get lucky and the person who does the scanning happens to be a tech. As far as I know, there is no means of testing for codes other than through the factory test tool or another generic test tool. As far a looking up what the codes mean, once you know what the codes are, you could go down to a book store like Barns and Noble and find a repair manuel that has the references. You don't have to buy the book to look up the code meanings and solutions, you can just write down the findings. Good luck

2003 Nissan Altima 2.5S, Check Engine Light Problem.

this problem could be caused by the mass air flow censor, i had the same problem with my car. it is really pricey at the dealer so you might want to check elsewhere for this part. I found one at a scrap yard for 85% less that the dealer and i also got life time warranty, the dealer does not offer any warranty on this part.
