Question about 1987 Toyota Corolla 2 Door

1 Answer

I have a 1987 Toyota Corolla 4 door FWD

I just put a new belt on the A/C compressor and had no cold air so I check a little farther and see the wire is not hooked up. Problem is I have the wire from the compressor but don't see a wire that plugs into it anywhere. Can you tell me where the wire comes from that plugs into the compressor?
Thanks
Duke

I have a 2003 toyota corolla. My AC would blow cold air for a min or two then when the compressor shut off it would no longer blow cold air or come back on. A new compressor was put in it but it did not...

the ac clutch relay is the problem. It is located in the under hood fuse box. It is a $10 part. The relay will make a clicking sound when activated but the contacts inside are burnt causing no electrical flow to the ac compressor. Simply unplug and replace. The relay is labeled M/G CLT .

replace or blow out the cabin air filter as well. It is located behind the glove box. Instructions are in your owners manual.

Have a 1992 toyota corolla. I put a can of freon in it for my a/c. It got cold for 2 days and then only just blow out cool air. What can be the problem?

air conditioning sytems are assembled with o rings at each connection to seal the system, as these dry rot and crack over time, they fail and cause leaks in the system. you added freon , but then it leaked out slowly over the next few days. a garage can inject colored dye into your ac sytem and find your leak, but it will cost you.

does the car have freon in it? or do you have the belt around it correct? the wiring is no use, your gonna have to take your dash out to find it, very frusterating.

Overheating in 1987 Corolla AE82 4 door sedan

Sounds like you need to bleed the air out of the radiator. If you already did that, there next thing might be a faulty coolant temperature sensor on the radiator or a loose connection from the coolant sensor to the radiator fan. The coolant temperature sensor turns on the radiator fan when it reaches a certain temperature.

1. Bleed the air out of the radiator.
2. Make sure the radiator fan is turning on.
3. Check for a faulty coolant sensor.

Good Luck.
