It could be a plugged heater core or heater control problem. I assume the blower is working, but the air is cold. The first thing to check is the coolant level, make sure there is coolant in the resivoir. Next see if the temerature gauge reaches the normal operating temperature range. If the gauge reads cold most of the time, it would tell you that the thermsotat is faulty and not allowing the engine to reach full operating temperature. If your car doesn't have a temp gauge, the blue cold engine light might stay on for an extended period of time. The thermostat is supposed to not allow coolant flow in the radiator until the engine reaches operating temperature. If you drive the car for a couple of minutes, from cold start, the radiator or upper hose should be cool until the engine reaches operating temp.

Why does a/c only blow whil vehicle is in motion?

you have a problem with the heater/a/c controls there obviouly stuck on a/c you will need to strip out the control panel to see why the direction/vent , hot/cold , fan speed controls are not working , before doing this have you checked the fuses as there may be a seperate fuse for the control panel ,if this all checks out take to an a/c specialist as you dont want to mess around with a/c gasses etc

What if you leave the heater hose outlet off your car will your car run hot

Won't run hot

The heater hose is to put hot coolant
into the heater core for cabin heat, just won't be
hot inside

You have to put the two hoses together if you
don't want to have water thru the heater core,
then they don't do anything but circulate coolant
but not inside the car

1993 ford escort heater blowing cool

heater core cloged, get car hot check heaterhose going into heatercore should be two inch thick hoses going into the heatercore, underhood against firewall pasenger side, after hot while running heater on, chech to see if both hoses r hot, if one is cold, that means there is a restriction in the heatercore, sometimes on older cars there is a external valve run by a vaccume hose, or cable, thats fixed in with the heater hoses , sometimes this valve jams and can be manually switched.

1998 chevy blazer After the repair shop replaced the blown intake gasket, I have no heat from the heater. I took the heater hoses off and ran water thru the heater but still no heat

Is the vehicle running at normal temperature..If its running cooler than normal, then it might be the thermostat..Feel the upper radiator hose after the vehicle hot..It should be hot to touch

Heater quit working runing hot no water in

Fill it up, run until it's hot and see if you see anything coming out of the water pump. I don't think the heater has anything to do with the running hot problem. The heater valve may need replaced or freed up. Good luck!
