You need a special spanner which has the shape of the nut and a small slot in it to slide over the brake pipe so you do not round off the nut .

Need to know what size allen wrench to take off front disc brakes on 2000 chevy silverado 4.8 l

The caliper guide pins will usually have either a 3/8 inch or a 5/16 inch allen head bolt. If the brake calipers are found to have phenolic pistons then it would be advisable to change them with calipers that have metal pistons.

How do you change the rear brake line that goes between each wheel, the brake line that is metal..

Don't do this unless you have skill at and tools to repair flair pipe. You will need the special tubing wrenches as well. The fittings/pipe are probably rusted and - frankly - it will be a night mare getting the repair done ... and then the 'fun' begins when you try to get the air out of the line.

Remove and replace metal brake lines on driver's side.

There are two(2) compression fitting nuts on each end.

Find the size open ended wrench that fits EXACTLY and loosen them up, take the old line off, and replace it the exact way in reverse. Tighten the nuts to seal the ends.

Then have someone help you bleed the brake lines to get the air our of them.

I hope this helps you

Thanks for letting ya

Need to replace brake line going to drivers side

You can take the line off and take to a parts store that sells metal brake pipes by the foot, there is different size pipes as well as flared end nuts. You will have to bend the pipe to fit then bleed the brake system.Iwould suggest to take it to a shop and have a pipe made up.

I have a 84 GMC 3/4 ton, 5.0 liter engine. What tools would i need to replace a transmission line? It's a metal line, it looks like it has a couple of bends in it.

Aside from some wrench's you will need to be able to bend the line. If you don't have or can't borrow a tubing bender, I've had good luck using a large bolt with two flat washers. Clamp the bolt in a vise, set the line between the washers and snug up the nut so the line just moves. Bend the line slowly and it won;t collapse. Keep your hands close to where you want the bend to be.It's the same as steel brake line, just make sure that when you get a new line at the parts store that the fittings will work on your trans or you will need a double flare kit to change the fittings. Take the old line with you, and they should be able to use fittings there to get you set up. Hope this helps.

Rear metal brake lines

To get the length, just get a roll of string, run it along the existing brake line 'til u get to the rubber line. you can cut off the line near the master cylinder, bring it to the parts store, they can tell you what size you need. You will have to use several lengths of line to reach the back. If this line has rotted thru, you should change all the others, as they are likely to fail soon. countrycurt0
