Question about 2000 Jaguar Vanden Plas

2 Answers

1995 Jaguar x300. Harman Kardon pre-amp. Part # LNA4170AB. Rear speakers have very little volume. Have to fade output to the rear and turn volume up completely just to know they are even there. Ideas on the cause?

No, they were operating fine til a couple months ago. I noticed one day
that the stereo sounded odd, then began hearing static in the rear when
I accelerated (like an old stereo without resister spark plug wires).

The radios on these cars are bad. I have changed all my speaker, thinking that they were causing these issues, but it was the same issue. after changing the radio to an aftermarket one , the problem went away. check jag-lovers.org

Radio volume went out after a popping sound in the rear. It turns on and I can hear it but very faintly.

If power is more than speakers can handle this will happen. If you have a amplifier in the rear than all it is a fuse or a circuit breaker needs to be reset

How do i remove rear seats on 1995 jaguar xj6 vanden plas

remove the rear heel board covers, locate one scew on either side holding seat cushion remove cushion disconnect wiring connectors if it has heated seats, locate 2 screws holding seat back at lower end, the seat back then lifts upwards,,note depending on vin, number there may be 2 upper fixings for seat back located in the trunk behind trim panel. hope this helps. i presume this is a XJ40 model and not a X300, however the removal procedure is similar.

Front speakers only produce static

The amps are on each of the speakers. There is a place in Florida that will fix them for around $85.00 each plus shipping. I put a sony unit in mine and replaced all of the speakers with the kicker ds series for less than fixing the bose system.
