There is only 1 fuel pump, and it is in the tank. However, it is much easier to remove the bed to change as there are only like 4 or 6 bed bolts to take out, then disconnect the tail lights and have a friend help slide it off. It is alot easier, and then you dont have to struggle on your back to try and get the tank back into place, or fight with the straps either.
Thanks.

Fuel pump replacement for a Ford 1991 Ranger

Remove the gas tank when first emptied out. The pump is inside of the tank. Have the tank supported upon removing so the lines can be removed next then drop it down to remove the top retaining nut to remove the sender with the pump

2001 ford ranger after it sits for a few hours it

No not the fuel pump. You most likely need to do a tune uo. New spark plugs, wires, fuel filter, air filter. Deffinently change out the spark plugs. I would suggest using autocraft, autolite (fords brand} or some densos or ngk for better performance. Hope this solves your problem.

Remove the door panel and on the inside of the door is a clip or a couple of nuts you'll need to remove. The door handle will fall out.
