First check your park brake and Dsc (skid control) if they work then forget, see the lights on the dash. Could be low pad, sensor fault etc but most likely not the problem. The engine system fault is the most likely area to look. Obviously check the usual fluids, oils etc.

Also check here, its a Jaguar forum with a lot of information for you.

How to remove battery from jaguary s type ?

Open the boot and lift the floor mat out of the way and the battery will be to your left.

Remove both the negative (black) and the positive (red) using an 8mm spanner.

Then remove the securing strap wich is an 8mm bolt into the body and a long bolt into the floor remove the strap and then lift the battery out

My jaguar 2001 x type jag has a warning on dashboard that say dsc or dcs failure can i get this warning to go away from dashboard and what is the fault

The DSC light stands for Dynamic Skid Control or in lawmen's terms Traction Control. If the light stays on you have a problem with this system. You will need to have it diagnosed by someone who has the tools and expertise to find the problem. More than likely you are going to have to take it to a Jaguar dealer.

Dcs fault light comes on

Several possible causes = inspect in the order listed

1 Brakes need service/checking
2 ABS wheel sensor faulty, check condition and cable connections
3 ABS/DCS unit faulty

A good independant garage should be able to check the above quickly and cheaply, if you cannot.

Hope this helps - good luck.

Problems with the DCS light on my 2005 Jaguar X-Type Sport

All the DSC does is senses the tire spinning and compensates, unless your tires are getting poor traction your tire size should not affect its operation, I have an S Type sport package in which I added larger wheels and tires and have not had any adverse affects. I would suggest having your vehicle serviced by jag and maybe even having your stability control unit replaced if they deem necessary. Hope this helps

2002 jaguar x type wont start, lights, radio, air have power. clicking sound when turning the key to start the engine. Engine light stays, no engine turnover

Hi .
unlikely to be immobiliser fault ,so check basics, try a set of jump leads or check battery voltage above 12.5,if the clicking is coming from the starter motor with a fully charged battery then suspect starter motor failure.
