Question about Chrysler 300M

1 Answer

I'm almost embarassed to ask this question. I have a 1999 Chrysler 300M and it needs a quart of oil. I can't get the oil cap off - it just spins around freely. No matter how hard I press down on the cap and rotate couter-clockwise, the cap won't come off. It just spins. I never had this problem before. Any ideas on how I can get this thing off?

Thank you! I appreciate the advice, CMV9. That's what I'll do - 'cause it's a cinch that cap is not coming off. It seems the top part of the cap won't engage with the seal part - so I don't know how I'll ever get the thing off without taking it to a dealer ($$$).

Well if you have no success taking the cap off and you really need the oil there is another way to put the oil in your car at least until you get th cap fix. thake the dipstick out of the tube and put a funnel in it and ad the oil tha way. at least you have the oil in the car and your not chancing running the engine.
