Bad headlight switch or relay, or shorted wire. I would check the relay first.

Wiring diagram for st162 celica

I am sorry but fixya.com has no wiring diagrams for cars and trucks. The diagrams are part of the factory repair manuals and they are copyrighted and not free to download or share on the internet in any way without the express permission of Toyota. You can but the manuals used in may cases on Ebay or at Faxon Auto Literature.com.

I have a 1987 toyota celica gt and the heater won't come on, the blower works but no heat, fuses are good but no heat

This problem is specific to the Gen4 Celica (86-89). Intermittent or no heat heat is caused by cracked solder joints in the Heater Control Panel. You need to remove the panel and re-solder the solder joints. When electrical continuity is broken, the panel defaults to the cold setting. If you go over a bump and it touches again, you may get hot. Hence, intermittent or no heat. We have the complete DIY fix posted at www.st162.net and it's free. Pic below shows the heater control points to re-solder.

I have a 1988 celica gts coupe the heater works for about 1 mile in the morning then stops fan is ok.

The heater control panel needs to be removed and connections re-soldered. Common problem - the solder joints crack over time and the heater will default to the cold setting. At www.st162.net we have the DIY fix posted with photos. Cheers

Help

Go to www.st162.net for some sections of the factory repair manual. I have not seen the owner's manual posted online anywhere as of yet. You can ask one of the owners if they will post it for you.
