Spark plugs wire's can they get to hot and start melting from motor?

Newer cars run hot enough under the hood to cause belts, hoses and spark plug wires to break down more quickly than older cars, so yes, plug wires that are old may start to melt, especially if car runs hot or is used in hot climate. Wires should be changed every 3 to 5 years, or even more often in hot climates or high performance use. Use only OEM quality or better wires.

It was running great and started backfiring through the intake. Just had a valve job with new valves, valve guides, springs and a new rocker arm assembly. New point, rotor, distributor cap, and wires.

recheck the valve clearance when the engine is hot if it is hydraulic operated then thee will be an auto adjustment but it should be around .010 " when stationary and hot

I installed new spark plugs and wires in my 1999 voyager and now it won't start. Van started perfect before installed new ones

What type of plugs are you trying to use? I had a serious performance issue with the 1999 Dakota after putting platinum plugs in it for a tune up . I found out that with the old-style ignition coil and distributor cap setup that there was not a hot enough spark to fire the platinum plugs properly. Went back to the old copper-core OEM plugs and everything ran fine. High performance plugs on a "low performance" ignition system equals major headaches. Here was one case where better wasn't better.

I have a 1997 Blazer 4WD with a transmission leak. The fluid is leaking out the top of the tranny around an electrical plug that plugs into the top of it. It seems to leak out after it is driven but while...

The leak at the electrical plug.. can you tell if its coming from around the edge(s).. or coming through the wires them selves(around the wires)..If you just want the leak to stop, you could remove the plug and replace the o-ring or what ever type seal is there... If its coming through the wire area (wires themselves),, you can use some devcon 2 ton epoxy..(clear and liquid you mix)

Will not start dash saids HOT...AC Disable

there is a 4 wire splice about 4-6 inches behind the door hinges under the carpet that corrodes and looses connection prompting the "hot ac diabled" data to come up on your diagnostic , not every case but you already replaced the fuel pump. take out the plastic on the drivers side and lift up the carpet . there should be a plastic sleeve around these wires . open that up check for corrosion and clean and repair wires as necesary
